After winning his third American League MVP award, New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge shared a shocking \u2014 \u00a0but understandable \u2014 \u00a0feeling about his accomplishments to date.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News, Judge would trade just about every other accomplishment in his career for just one opportunity.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I’d trade every award I’ve gotten and every All-Star appearance for an opportunity to win a championship,\u2019 Aaron Judge said. #Yankees,\u201d Phillips relayed on Twitter.<\/p>\n

It’s clear from a fan perspective that while these accomplishments are meaningful to Judge, it doesn’t make losing feel any better. During the season, when asked about the hot debate over whether he or Seattle Mariners catcher\u00a0Cal Raleigh\u00a0should be the AL MVP, Judge was playful but blunt.<\/p>\n

“That’s not my job,” Judge said, when asked his opinion on the AL MVP race ahead of the All-Star game back in July. “That’s your guys’ job to talk about so I’m just going to keep going out there and doing my thing.”<\/p>\n

Judge has always emphasized the importance of winning games over any accolades, and his response to the MVP win was no different.<\/p>\n

Judge has played his entire career to date with the Yankees, making his professional debut with them in 2017 and giving historic performances ever since. With this latest MVP award, and his countless other achievements this season alone, Judge has become one of the greatest to play the game, but never win a championship. It’s weighing on his fans, and it’s clearly weighing on the Captain.<\/p>\n

The Yankees have not won a World Series since 2009, and fans in New York are feeling that streak after falling short yet again in 2025. The front office is working to make some needed changes in the offseason, but even with the highest WAR of any team in the majors this year, the Yankees couldn’t pull it all together. The team has been criticized for a lack of hunger, particularly this season, and for their less-than-ideal\u00a0approach to injuries.<\/p>\n

Yankees manager Aaron Boone shared his frustrations this year at the season’s brutal end to the Toronto Blue Jays, sharing that he has been chasing a World Series win all his life.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m confident we will break through,” Boone said, h\/t\u00a0Gary Phillips\u00a0of the New York Daily News “I have been every year. It\u2019s hard to win the World Series. I\u2019ve been chasing it my whole life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Judge will more than likely be the Yankees’ marquee player for years to come, but there is a degree of urgency to getting a World Series win not only for the legendary franchise, but for their star player, who doesn’t have infinite time.<\/p>\n

On Sunday night, Scott Morrow made his New York Rangers debut after being called up from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League earlier that day.<\/p>\n

The Rangers acquired Morrow over the summer as part of the sign-and-trade deal with the Carolina Hurricanes centered around K\u2019Andre Miller.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During training camp, Morrow was given an opportunity to make the opening-night roster, as he played in multiple preseason games while practicing on the second power-play unit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was one of the last players to be sent down to the AHL before the start of the 2025-26 season. In 11 games for the Wolf Pack, Morrow recorded one goal, one assist, and two points.<\/p>\n

With Will Borgen out with an upper-body injury, the Rangers called up Morrow, and he was immediately slotted into the lineup in place of Urho Vaakanainen.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old defenseman played 9:56 minutes in his NHL season debut, the fewest amongst all Rangers blueliners.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Rangers assistant coach David Quinn praised Morrow for his performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI liked his game. I thought Scotty did a good job,\u201d Quinn said. \u201cI thought he kept it simple. He moves the puck well, gets us out of our end when we needed to get out of our end when the chances presented themselves. I thought he defended well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Borgen\u2019s injury status remains a mystery, so it\u2019s possible Morrow could find himself back in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Rangers go up against the Vegas Golden Knights.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
