A motorist who fled a fender bender was shot dead by police after reaching for a gun during a Houston traffic stop \u2014 with the shocking exchange caught on bodycam video.<\/p>\n

Michael Dziedzic allegedly drove away from a three-car accident on the North Freeway on May 17, but was stopped by cops at a nearby parking lot, Houston\u00a0police said on Facebook last week.<\/p>\n

Two officers approach Dziedzic\u2019s SUV in the clip and question the driver about the crash.<\/p>\n

\u201cWere you involved in an accident?\u201d one officer asked.<\/p>\n

What was your intention? You didn\u2019t want to provide your information?\u201d the cop said. \u201cYou know it\u2019s state law to do that, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

The officer then tells Dziedzic to step out of the vehicle.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not gonna get into a debate about it with you, ok?\u201d the cop said. \u201cWhat we\u2019re gonna do is put you in handcuffs and I want you in the back seat, and we\u2019ll put your car over there with the other two cars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dziedzic is then seen reaching into his waistband for a gun.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s got a gun, lookout, lookout,\u201d the officer shouts as both cops open fire. \u201cShots fired, shots fired!\u201d<\/p>\n

Dziedzic is seen slumped over in his seat with the gun still in his waistband, the clip shows.<\/p>\n

Houston Police Assistant Chief Christy Smith said the motorist was declared dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese typically require investigators to interview multiple witnesses, view numerous hours of video footage and analyze a significant amount of forensic evidence,\u201d Smith said. \u201cIt is important to note that we are in the very early stages of the investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
