Following the tragic passing of Charlie Kirk, the right-wing activist and co-founder of\u00a0Turning Point USA,\u00a0<\/em>his widow, Erika Kirk is continuing his legacy.<\/p>\n Kirk was shot in the neck on Wednesday, September 10,\u00a0during a debate event while speaking before a large crowd at Utah Valley University (UVU).<\/p>\n His\u00a0alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, has since been arrested and \u201cfaces single counts of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and violent offense in the presence of a child, along with two counts each of obstruction of justice and witness tampering,\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Charlie Kirk\u00a0and Erika shared two children, a daughter, 2, and a son, just 16 months old.<\/p>\n The widowed mother of two\u00a0addressed the nation days following her husband\u2019s passing, thanking the emergency services who had done everything to save Charlie. She then extended her gratitude to Vice President JD Vance and his wife for bringing Charlie\u2019s coffin home.<\/p>\n She also thanked President Donald Trump, whom Charlie Kirk supported and admired.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Charlie Kirk Show<\/em>\u00a0is not going anywhere,\u201d Erika Kirk\u00a0said. \u201cMy husband\u2019s voice will live on. The show will go on. We will have rotating hosts, rotating casts, rotating people coming on. It is going to be continually the north star of the conservative movement, of the voice of the youth, of the voice of the base, and that will not end.\u201d<\/p>\n She then announced her plans of continuing Charlie\u2019s tour through college campuses nationwide, named the \u201cAmerican Comeback Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll never be silenced,\u201d Erika continued. \u201cThat\u2019s why continuing his platform in a beautiful, honorable way will reinforce that he will never be silenced. My husband\u2019s voice will go on.\u201d<\/p>\n Turning Point USA<\/em>\u00a0is believed to be the \u201clargest Conservative student movement\u201d in the US with groups at more than 3,000 universities and high schools, and Erika Kirk said it is moving \u201cfull steam ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n At her late husband\u2019s memorial in Glendale, Arizona, Erika gave a heartfelt speech. She recalled seeing Charlie Kirk at the hospital after his death and sharing her decision to forgive his killer.<\/p>\n \u201cMy husband, he wanted to save young men, just like the one who took his life. That man, that young man, I forgive him. I forgive him because it was what Christ did and it is what Charlie would do,\u201d Erika Kirk said.<\/p>\n \u201cThe answer to hate is not hate,\u201d she added. \u201cThe answer we know from the gospel is love and always love. As essential workers, controllers are required to remain on the job, yet many are facing severe financial strain. They received partial paychecks for pre-shutdown work on October 14, followed by $0 paychecks on October 28 and in the pay periods since \u2014 leaving many with more than 120 hours of unpaid labor.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd that\u2019s why we\u2019re saying, end the shutdown immediately. It\u2019s not like we\u2019re sitting here talking about an aviation issue. We\u2019re talking, I understand the fears, the frustrations of the American people. We want to do an amazing job on their behalf, and we are. We\u2019re showing up to work every day, the best way that we can to get through this crisis. But this isn\u2019t something that we asked for. We didn\u2019t want to put ourselves in the middle of it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n \u201cYet here we are, the rope in the tug of war game that we didn\u2019t ask for at all.
