And if they\u2019re not dreaming of it, they\u2019re certainly looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the young boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 chance to spend a beautiful night with their dates and friends, an opportunity to have fun, dance, and enjoy themselves before their school years come to an end.<\/p>\n

For young Dakota Wollan of Watford City, N.D., prom night was not something he couldn\u2019t wait for.<\/p>\n

When the High School senior told his parents that he didn\u2019t have anyone in mind that he\u2019d like to ask to go to prom with him, his dad had an idea.<\/p>\n

When the student heard the suggestion, he was not negative at all.<\/p>\n

He felt it would be an honor and unforgettable night for them both to take his beloved great grandma!<\/p>\n

And, after thinking for a moment, he knew that this was the best idea ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have this old truck she gave me, it\u2019s a 1985 ford she handed down to me and I got it running again. So, I took that truck and made a sign,\u201d<\/p>\n

When the 92-year-old woman saw the sign, she was shocked.<\/p>\n

She couldn\u2019t find a reason why a young man would want to spend such a special night with an elderly lady.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was just wondering why he would want a 92-year-old going to prom with him when there are so many young girls in the school,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0Madeline Miller, Wollan\u2019s great-grandma said.<\/p>\n

As the woman told the news outlet, she had never been to prom before.<\/p>\n

In fact, she didn\u2019t even remember if there was such a thing back at her time.<\/p>\n

So, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to find out what this prom thing is all about.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the big day came and the pair was ready to have the time of their lives.<\/p>\n

Boys and girls couldn\u2019t help looking at them and cheering for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWalking beside my great grandson, listening to this music as we walked and people clapping and hollering,\u201d<\/p>\n

As her great-grandson added, the rest of the students were excited to see them.<\/p>\n

The pair\u2019s dance stole the show and it certainly brought tears to many eyes.<\/p>\n

Kid Rock has officially declared that he will no longer be performing in New York City, blaming what he calls the city\u2019s \u201cnew communist regime\u201d under recently elected mayor Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n

The 54-year-old rocker, known for blending southern patriotism with unfiltered Twitter tirades, announced the decision Thursday morning in a post that read like a declaration of independence if the founding fathers had written theirs in all caps and misspelled half of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cSORRY NYC, BUT I DON\u2019T SING FOR COMMIES,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cY\u2019ALL ELECTED MARX LITE, AND I DON\u2019T POUR MY WHISKEY OUT FOR THAT.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an interview later that afternoon on a Nashville radio show, Kid Rock elaborated.<\/p>\n

\u201cI took one look at that guy and said, \u2018Hell no.\u2019<\/p>\n

You can\u2019t be calling yourself a socialist and expect Kid Rock to roll into town with the American flag and a six-pack of freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The host tried gently to point out that Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist, not a communist.<\/p>\n

Kid Rock wasn\u2019t having it. \u201cThat\u2019s what they always say,\u201d he replied. \u201cFirst, they\u2019re \u2018democratic socialists.\u2019<\/p>\n

Next, they\u2019re telling you to share your lawnmower with your neighbor and report to the nearest tofu ration line.\u201d<\/p>\n

His stance has sent ripples of laughter, confusion, and mild indifference through the city he\u2019s now boycotting.<\/p>\n

Many New Yorkers were unaware Kid Rock had even scheduled concerts there.<\/p>\n

His office released a short statement thanking Kid Rock for his input and assuring even those who \u201cconfuse fans that New York City remains open for all artists universal healthcare with gulags.\u201d<\/p>\n

Others wondered how long it would take before Rock realized that a mayor doesn\u2019t control concert permits.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a group of Brooklyn musicians has announced plans to hold a free \u201cWelcome to the People\u2019s Republic of New York\u201d concert on the same night Rock was scheduled to perform.<\/p>\n

The lineup includes a jazz trio, a drag queen poet, and a folk band called \u201cThe Red Scares.\u201d<\/p>\n

Event organizers promise \u201cplenty of communal snacks and no cover charge because that\u2019s socialism, baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

He\u2019s reportedly writing a new song inspired by the controversy, tentatively titled \u201cBorn Free, Except in Brooklyn.\u201d<\/p>\n

His management has also hinted at a line of \u201cPatriot Approved\u201d beer cans because if you can\u2019t beat socialism, you might as well sell something off it.<\/p>\n

Political analysts have struggled to interpret the symbolism of Kid Rock\u2019s rebellion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s part performance, part protest, and mostly marketing,\u201d said columnist Erin Delaney.<\/p>\n

As the city moves on with its usual chaos, residents continue doing what they do best \u2013 rolling their eyes, paying too much for coffee, and ignoring celebrity tantrums.<\/p>\n

By evening, the controversy had already faded into the endless scroll of internet noise.<\/p>\n

But in Nashville, Kid Rock remained resolute, sipping whiskey and promising that his stand against \u201cMarxism in Manhattan\u201d will be remembered.<\/p>\n

\u201cHistory will thank me,\u201d he said. \u201cSomeday, when America is free again, people will say, \u2018Kid Rock saw it coming.\u201d<\/p>\n
