Federal agents carried out a major immigration raid in downtown Los Angeles on Monday, despite objections from Mayor Karen Bass, who appeared at the scene in protest.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are with hundreds of federal agents and military as a massive federal immigration enforcement operation is underway in the MacArthur Park area of the sanctuary city of Los Angeles, an area with heavy MS-13 influence,\u201d Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin noted on the X platform.<\/p>\n

\u201cMayor Bass has demanded raids stop, Feds respond with one of the largest yet, including Border Patrol agents on horseback. Protesters already showing up,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Melugin also shared a video of Bass speaking with a Border Patrol agent, who seemed to call someone and then handed the phone to her.<\/p>\n

Local Fox affiliate KTTV-TV reported that the Democratic mayor could be heard saying on the phone, \u201cThey have completed their mission here,\u201d and \u201cWhat\u2019s the timeframe before they leave?\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked by a reporter if she wanted to make a statement, Bass responded: \u201cThey need to leave and they need to leave right now, because this is unacceptable!\u201d<\/p>\n

Monday\u2019s raid followed a wave of anti-ICE protests and riots in Los Angeles last month in response to ongoing immigration enforcement. Tensions escalated further last month, when U.S. Sen. Alex Padilla, a California Democrat, was forcibly removed from a news conference in L.A. led by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.<\/p>\n

She said that immigration enforcement operations would be ongoing in Los Angeles and elsewhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are not going away. We are staying here to liberate this city from the socialists and the burdensome leadership that this governor and mayor have placed on this country and what they\u2019ve tried to insert in this city,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

At that moment, Padilla abruptly interrupted Noem\u2019s remarks, walking toward her and speaking loudly over her. Most people in the room had no idea who he was until security officers stepped in and escorted him out.<\/p>\n

Later, Noem, said, \u201cI had a conversation with the senator after this. We sat down for 10 to 15 minutes and talked about the fact that nobody knew who he was. He didn\u2019t say who he was until he \u2026 already had been lunging forward, and people were trying to detain him for quite a period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Border czar Tom Homan on Monday vowed to continue immigration enforcement operations in New York City and other sanctuary cities, even as the Trump administration prepares legal action against Los Angeles and other jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal authorities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re going to be in New York City and President Trump said it two weeks ago,\u201d Homan told reporters. \u201cWe\u2019re going to double down and triple down on sanctuary cities. Why? Not because they\u2019re a blue city or a blue state\u2026 because we know that\u2019s where the problem is.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re releasing public safety threats and national security threats to the streets every day,\u201d he said. \u201cWe know that. We don\u2019t have that problem in Florida, where every sheriff in the state is working with us. I\u2019ve said it before, we\u2019ll flood the zone on sanctuary cities.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to allegations and evidence presented by U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson, the Democratic-controlled North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles has been found to be registering noncitizens to vote in violation of federal laws, while residents of North Carolina wait in long lines outside the buildings and young drivers wait months for their license tests.<\/p>\n

As reporter Naomi Kowles describes, Charlotte, North Carolina\u2019s Democrat-run WBTV is rushing to fill in for their fellow Democrats at the NCDMV and Governor Josh Stein\u2019s offices, saying it\u2019s all a minor mistake and nothing to worry about.<\/p>\n

— \u201cA Hispanic woman from Charlotte was unaware that a federal investigator and a police officer had knocked on her door earlier this year to question her about a voter registration of which she was not aware. To find out why the woman\u2019s name had been included in a letter sent by a federal prosecutor to the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, WBTV Investigates went to her house and spoke with her in Spanish in collaboration with Jorge Andr\u00e9s of QC Life. After discussing the registration with the woman, Andres stated, \u201cShe didn\u2019t know until they contacted her<\/p>\n

<\/em>.\u201d The woman informed WBTV that she was unaware of what had happened at the time, is lawfully in the United States, and is not facing any criminal charges. WBTV is not naming the woman at her request and for her protection. U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson is charging the DMV with unlawfully registering to vote six noncitizens, including her. According to documents that WBTV collected, investigators believed that in almost all cases, the registered individuals were unaware of what had occurred. (<\/p>\n

The Democrats at WBTV appear to be more concerned about \u201cHispanics\u201d who registered to vote as noncitizens and committed felonies than about American voters whose ballots might be stolen by these illegally registered individuals!
