For years, Bad Chad Customs fans were glued to their screens watching the eccentric, small-town genius Chad Hiltz build wild, jaw-dropping cars out of literal junkyard scraps.

But behind the welding masks and flame-painted fenders, one woman quietly stole the show—Jolene MacIntyre.

Smart, composed, and stunningly calm amid the chaos, she was the brains, balance, and, let’s be honest, beauty of the operation.

But lately, eagle-eyed fans have noticed something strange: Jolene’s gone.

Vanished.

No new episodes, no garage updates, not even a “Hey guys, I’m still here!” on social media.

So what really happened to Jolene MacIntyre? Did she leave Bad Chad Customs for good—or did something deeper drive her away from the wild world of welding, wrenches, and one very unpredictable partner? Buckle up, because this ride gets bumpier than one of Chad’s homemade hot rods.

To start, let’s rewind to the beginning.

Jolene wasn’t just a pretty face popping up on camera to smile next to Chad’s rusty creations.

She was the powerhouse behind the business.

A finance graduate turned entrepreneur, Jolene was the one who kept Bad Chad Customs running when Chad was too busy cutting up a school bus to make a sports car out of it.

“Chad had the ideas,” one former crew member said, “but Jolene made them profitable.

Without her, that shop would’ve been chaos. ”

Spoiler: it was chaos anyway, but at least a well-managed kind.

When Bad Chad Customs premiered on Discovery Channel in 2019, it was an instant cult hit.

Viewers couldn’t believe what they were seeing—this wasn’t your polished L. A. car show with million-dollar budgets.

It was raw, it was weird, it was Nova Scotia in all its scrapyard glory.

And at the center of it all was the couple that nobody could quite figure out.

Chad, the rough-edged, impulsive artist.

Jolene, the calm strategist who somehow wrangled sponsors, customers, and television producers while Chad welded a car out of a washing machine.

Fans adored them.

They were the ultimate odd couple—until they weren’t.

Rumors started swirling in 2022 when Jolene’s social media presence suddenly dropped off the map.

No posts from the garage, no appearances at car shows, and a lot of fans noticed something telling: Chad’s videos stopped mentioning her.

“One day she was there helping build the ‘Green Goblin’ project,” said a viewer on Reddit, “and the next, it was like she’d been erased from the shop. ”

Naturally, the internet did what it does best—spiraled into speculation.

Some fans suggested she’d left to start her own business.

Others whispered about tension with Chad behind the scenes.

One tabloid-style YouTube channel even claimed that “creative differences” between the couple had reached boiling point after a disastrous project blew their budget and their relationship apart.

To make things murkier, Chad didn’t help matters.

His cryptic Instagram posts—half motivational quotes, half existential ramblings about “moving forward in life”—only fueled the fire.

One post, in particular, set fans ablaze: “You can’t build a future holding on to the past. ”

Coincidence? Maybe.

Subtle breakup announcement disguised as garage philosophy? Almost certainly.

Of course, Jolene herself didn’t issue any official statement—because that’s just not her style.

Unlike Chad, who thrives on chaos, Jolene always preferred to keep things professional.

But those close to the couple hinted that she’d grown weary of the constant filming, unpredictable schedules, and the pressure of running a business that doubled as a reality show circus.

“She wanted stability,” said one anonymous friend.

“But Chad’s world runs on chaos.

He’s a visionary, but he’s not exactly a nine-to-five guy. ”

And let’s be real: Bad Chad Customs wasn’t exactly the easiest environment for anyone looking for peace of mind.

Between the outrageous builds, mechanical meltdowns, and Chad’s larger-than-life personality, it was a nonstop rollercoaster.

“There were days where she’d just walk out of the garage shaking her head,” recalled one production assistant.

“Chad would be halfway through turning a snowmobile into a dragster, and she’d be trying to figure out how to pay for it. ”

Still, some fans believe there’s more to the story—something less “creative differences” and more “network politics. ”

After the second season, Discovery reportedly made changes to the show’s format, focusing less on the relationship dynamic and more on Chad’s solo creativity.

The problem? Viewers loved the duo.

Jolene’s grounded, no-nonsense energy balanced Chad’s eccentric genius.

Without her, some said the magic fizzled.

“It was like peanut butter without the jelly,” one longtime fan commented.

“She made the show make sense. ”

Ratings reportedly slipped, and by the time rumors of cancellation began, Jolene had already quietly exited stage left.

But what’s she doing now? Well, that’s where things get interesting.

While Chad still posts the occasional video from his garage, Jolene seems to have taken a sharp turn away from the TV spotlight.

According to a few sleuthing fans, she’s been focusing on her own projects—possibly related to business consulting and design.

One particularly obsessive Redditor claimed to have spotted her name linked to a new company in Nova Scotia, though details remain hazy.

“She’s always been smart,” said another fan.

“She’ll land on her feet.

Probably running her own empire while Chad’s still welding a Cadillac out of a canoe. ”

And then there’s the romantic question that fans can’t stop asking: are Jolene and Chad still together? The short answer—probably not.

The long answer? It’s complicated.

While neither has confirmed a breakup, the silence between them speaks volumes.

They once posted everything together—photos, builds, red carpet events.

Now? Radio silence colder than a Canadian winter.

Even their diehard supporters have accepted that the power couple of junkyard genius and beauty may have driven their last project together.

“They had chemistry,” one fan lamented.

“But maybe that chemistry was just too explosive. ”

Still, the internet being what it is, wild theories abound.

Some claim Jolene is negotiating a new TV deal on her own.

Others think she’s writing a tell-all book about her time in the spotlight.

A few particularly unhinged fans believe she’s living off the grid, driving one of Chad’s custom cars across North America as a symbolic “freedom run. ”

(We’d pay to see that show, honestly. )

Whether she returns to TV or not, one thing’s for sure: Jolene MacIntyre made an indelible mark on Bad Chad Customs.

She wasn’t just the co-star—she was the calm in the storm, the brains behind the builds, and the reason the operation didn’t implode sooner.

Her quiet confidence and sharp business mind turned Chad’s scrapyard dreams into something the whole world could watch.

And even though the show might be over, her legacy is welded into its DNA like chrome on a custom bumper.

So what really happened to Jolene MacIntyre? Maybe she just did what every smart woman eventually does in a whirlwind of chaos—she hit the brakes, took the wheel, and drove herself toward something better.

After all, not every ride needs to end in a crash.

Some just need a new road.

And somewhere in Nova Scotia, as Chad Hiltz fires up another outlandish project built from airplane wings and tractor tires, Jolene is probably sipping coffee, smiling, and thinking, “Thank God I’m not trying to budget that.

”

Because if we’ve learned anything from Bad Chad Customs, it’s that genius and madness often share the same garage.

But it takes someone truly brilliant—like Jolene MacIntyre—to know when it’s time to shut the door and walk away.
