A nonprofit organization in New York City has been caught on camera advising a supposed noncitizen to illegally vote in the mayoral election for Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n
According to footage released by O\u2019Keefe Media Group (OMG), an undercover journalist posing as an unregistered immigrant approached the nonprofit\u2019s director, asking how to cast a ballot \u2014 and who to vote for.<\/p>\n
The director allegedly explained how the journalist could navigate the system to vote despite not being a citizen and hinted at which candidate to choose, saying he should vote for the one whose name starts with \u201cM.\u201d<\/p>\n
James O\u2019Keefe, founder of the undercover investigative journalism organization, posted the video to X, with the caption: \u201cLa Jornada Executive Director Pedro Rodriguez Tells Undercover OMG Journalist Posing as an Unregistered Migrant to \u2018Vote for the Guy That Starts with \u2018M\u2019 \u2013 Despite 501(c)(3) Regulation Prohibiting Political Activity by Tax-Exempt Organizations. Rodriguez Acknowledges Knowing the Individual Is \u2018Not Registered\u2019 Before Advising him How to Vote \u2013 a Potential Violation of Federal & State Election Laws.\u201d<\/p>\n
It\u2019s illegal to vote in New York City elections as a non-citizen, but the voter ID mechanisms are not particularly strong, either.<\/p>\n
The video shows the director of the nonprofit \u201cLa Jornada\u201d \u2013 which boasts a focus on \u201cassisting migrants with their paperwork and legal needs\u201d \u2013 talking to the journalist posing as the immigrant.<\/p>\n
Mike Casey, the correspondent, told Rodriguez, \u201cYes, I\u2019m an immigrant. They sent me here to vote. I was recommended to come here to find information to vote. I was given two, dos locations. Forgive me, I am, no Espanol.\u201d<\/p>\n
Rodriguez responded, \u201cNo, this is perfect for me,\u201d before asking the undercover journalist when he registered to vote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did not, I didn\u2019t sign anything. They just told me to come here to vote,\u201d Casey said.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re not registered? Okay,\u201d the director says. OMG reported that even though the journalist posing as the unregistered immigrant was not in a legal voting status, he was nonetheless instructed to go vote at a local community college.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s three guys. The guy that starts with \u2018M,\u2019\u201d Rodriguez instructed.<\/p>\n
The only candidate in the race was Zohran Mamdani, who wound up blowing out his opponents to become mayor-elect on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
When O\u2019Keefe and his team later confronted Rodriguez, the nonprofit\u2019s director, he denied ever instructing the undercover journalist to vote for Mamdani \u2014 despite the fact that the reporter had clearly posed as an illegal immigrant in the recorded exchange.<\/p>\n
Mamdani, a self-described \u201cdemocratic socialist,\u201d is now\u00a0set to run New York City, the financial capital of America and, arguably, of the free world.<\/p>\n
Just the News has reportedly obtained internal documents from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) outlining how the group\u2019s New York City chapter, to which Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani belongs, plans to pressure him into implementing sweeping anti-Israel policies throughout city governance and public life.<\/p>\n
Mamdani, who defeated former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa on Tuesday, has long been a fixture in the DSA, where he\u2019s listed as one of nine \u201cNew York State Socialists in Office.\u201d The organization, which is decidedly anti-Israel, played a key role in his campaign, backing him in both the Democratic primary and the general election.<\/p>\n
During the mayoral race, Mamdani attempted to downplay his ties to the group\u2019s more radical and revolutionary platform \u2014 and, according to Politico, the NYC DSA branch actively helped him do so by providing public cover to make his campaign appear more moderate than it truly was.<\/p>\n
According to the \u201cSocialists in Office\u201d website, the group is composed of \u201cDSA-endorsed elected officials who work together in the New York State Legislature to advance a socialist vision for working-class people across our state\u201d \u2014 and among those featured is Mamdani.<\/p>\n
Kid Rock has officially declared that he will no longer be performing in New York City, blaming what he calls the city\u2019s \u201cnew communist regime\u201d under recently elected mayor Zohran Mamdani.<\/p>\n
The 54-year-old rocker, known for blending southern patriotism with unfiltered Twitter tirades, announced the decision Thursday morning in a post that read like a declaration of independence \u2014 if the founding fathers had written theirs in all caps and misspelled half of it. \u201cSORRY NYC, BUT I DON\u2019T SING FOR COMMIES,\u201d he wrote. \u201cY\u2019ALL ELECTED MARX LITE, AND I DON\u2019T POUR MY WHISKEY OUT FOR THAT.\u201d<\/p>\n
In an interview later that afternoon on a Nashville radio show, Kid Rock elaborated. \u201cI took one look at that guy and said, \u2018Hell no.\u2019 You can\u2019t be calling yourself a socialist and expect Kid Rock to roll into town with the American flag and a six-pack of freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n
The host tried gently to point out that Mamdani identifies as a democratic socialist, not a communist. Kid Rock wasn\u2019t having it. \u201cThat\u2019s what they always say,\u201d he replied. \u201cFirst, they\u2019re \u2018democratic socialists.\u2019 Next, they\u2019re telling you to share your lawnmower with your neighbor and report to the nearest tofu ration line.\u201d<\/p>\n
His stance has sent ripples of laughter, confusion, and mild indifference through the city he\u2019s now boycotting. Many New Yorkers were unaware Kid Rock had even scheduled concerts there. \u201cWait, Kid Rock was coming here?\u201d asked one Brooklyn resident, sipping a cold brew in disbelief. \u201cI thought his last tour was just yelling at beer cans.\u201d A bartender in Queens was more blunt: \u201cBro canceled something that wasn\u2019t sold out. That\u2019s like me canceling my yacht trip to Mars.\u201d<\/p>\n
Still, Kid Rock insists this is not about ticket sales \u2014 it\u2019s about standing up for principle. \u201cThis is bigger than me,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s about the American dream. You think George Washington fought the British just so Zohran Mamdani could raise taxes on Bud Light?\u201d When asked what specific policies offended him, Rock hesitated before responding, \u201cI don\u2019t know, man. Tucker Carlson reportedly recorded a surprise monologue from his Maine home titled \u201cWhen the Music Dies \u2014 Because of Marxism,\u201d featuring slow-motion clips of Kid Rock waving an American flag, set to a mournful guitar solo.<\/p>\n
Economists were less impressed. \u201cThis will not affect the city\u2019s GDP,\u201d said an NYU analyst flatly. \u201cNew York\u2019s entertainment economy is worth billions. Political analysts have struggled to interpret the symbolism of Kid Rock\u2019s rebellion. \u201cIt\u2019s part performance, part protest, and mostly marketing,\u201d said columnist Erin Delaney. \u201cHe\u2019s turning outrage into income \u2014 ironically, the most capitalist thing imaginable.
