The\u00a0Chicago Bears\u00a0switched up the wide receiver rotation after seeing six drops in the 24-20 win over the New York Giants in Week 10.<\/p>\n
Olamide Zaccheaus was a repeat offender against the Giants, and he saw the consequences during Sunday\u2019s matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.<\/p>\n
Luther Burden was the Bears WR3 against Minnesota. The second-round rookie finished with three receptions for 27 yards in Chicago\u2019s 19-17 win over the Vikings.<\/p>\n
During his postgame news conference, quarterback Caleb Williams made a cryptic comment about his relationship with Burden when asked about head coach Ben Johnson wanting more targets to go to the young wide receiver.<\/p>\n

Williams suggested that their relationship was growing with the talented receiver, but still needs Burden to prove he can trust him.<\/p>\n
\u201cLuther is a special talent, and he\u2019s a he\u2019s a young cat\u2013he\u2019s growing,\u201d Williams\u00a0said. \u201cSo that relationship between him and I is going to grow constantly throughout the years. And so I think that\u2019s just a little glimpse, I think, you know, last week, one of the biggest moments of the game, the ball goes to Luther on a 25-yard curl stop route.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd so that trust, that belief, I know who we have, what we have. And you know, when I drop back and these guys run these routes and the spacing and all of these things, of these things are right, and they\u2019re out there. Like I said, the trust, the belief, the special talent that I know that we have is there.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd it\u2019s, it\u2019s, it\u2019s a confidence builder for me to be able to trust them and put the ball in the right spot at the right time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Entering Sunday\u2019s game, Burden recorded 16 receptions on 18 targets for 222 yards and one touchdown. He\u2019s shown blazing speed and the ability to make things happen with yards after catch.<\/p>\n
However, it appears Johnson had more faith in Burden than Williams before Sunday.<\/p>\n
Zacchaeus\u2019 performance against the Giants might have changed that.<\/p>\n
Frankly, Burden\u2019s slow progression this season was easy to see coming. Burden suffered a hamstring injury during rookie minicamp and did not return to practice until late July for training camp.<\/p>\n
Burden should see more targets in upcoming games as Williams has more faith in the former Missouri standout.<\/p>\n
The hits keep coming for the New Orleans Saints. After news broke that starting center Erik McCoy was done for the year with a biceps injury, NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that third-year running back Kendre Miller is also out for the season with a torn ACL. Miller injured his left knee early in Sunday’s loss to the Chicago Bears and didn’t return. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill confirmed the news.<\/p>\n
It’s a really tough break for Miller. He’s experienced a lot of injuries since turning pro; he was still recovering from an injured meniscus when the Saints drafted him, and he missed time last year with a lingering hamstring issue. His ability has been clear to see, but they say the best ability is availability.<\/p>\n
Now Miller has to focus on recovering from a major knee injury and try to bounce back in what will be a contract year in 2026. That’s no easy feat. In the meantime the Saints will try to get by without him as Alvin Kamara continues to take the lion’s share of touches at running back. Rookie draft pick Devin Neal has an opportunity to show what he can do, and Velus Jones Jr. remains on the practice squad. Don’t be shocked if the Saints bring back someone like Marcus Yarns, an undrafted rookie running back who spent the summer with New Orleans. Yarns was recently let go by the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats and knows the offense. If Jones comes up from the practice squad he could be an easy fit in that spot.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
