Bachelor Nation loyalists know that every season of The Bachelor or its spin-offs is advertised as the \u201cmost dramatic season yet,\u201d but for this past season of The Golden Bachelor, which wrapped last week, that may have actually been true. (And not just because it\u2019s only the second season of this spin-off.) Fans witnessed a double-whammy of a self-elimination and no proposal at the end. Having just one of those things happen would have qualified as jaw-dropping \u2014 but both? It\u2019s basically unheard of.<\/p>\n

In case you missed it (or didn\u2019t read our recap), Cindy Cullers chose to go home (right before what would have been their trip to the Fantasy Suites) over what she viewed as his lack of commitment. She had asked Owens if he could see himself getting engaged at the end of the process, and he dodged the question.\u00a0<\/p>\n

During the After the Final Rose special, Owens and Cullers rehashed their breakup, and Owens explained that he didn\u2019t want to give a firm answer about his and Cullers\u2019 relationship because of his strong feelings for his other finalist, Peg Munson. Cullers, meanwhile, expressed that she was simply trying to suss out whether Owens would be proposing at all at the end of the journey \u2014 which he now tells Katie Couric Media he never intended to do. \u201cFor some odd reason, she wanted to get married [right] off the show,\u201d Owens tells us of his runner-up. \u201cI [wasn\u2019t] going to get married [right] off the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to KCM, Owens balks at the sped-up timeline of The Golden Bachelor (which in previous seasons, filmed for four to six weeks) when compared to real-life dating. \u201cIt\u2019s like the saying: first comes love, then comes marriage,\u201d he says. \u201cThe other one\u2019s not going to happen,\u201d he jokes, confirming that at 66, a baby in a baby carriage is not in the cards. \u201cThat\u2019s not what love is to me. It\u2019s not leapfrog, get married, and then find love later.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In real life, it would be unhinged to get engaged to someone after knowing them for a month or two \u2014 but that\u2019s a feature of The Bachelor, one that adds to the stakes (and the fantasy) of the whole experience. Agreeing to be the lead of The Golden Bachelor and not wanting to get engaged is like going on Love is Blind and expecting to know what the person you\u2019re dating looks like from the jump: It goes against the point of the show. So we couldn\u2019t help but wonder: Had Owens ever seen the show? \u201cI was a really ardent fan for five or six years,\u201d he says, but he fell off as a viewer when he had kids. \u201cI didn\u2019t know anything about The Golden Bachelor at all when they cast me,\u201d he admits. \u201cI had to go back and watch it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Did he know going into filming that he would not get engaged, despite that being the expectation of the lead? Was this whole season a giant waste of time? \u201cI didn\u2019t have a hard line of, \u2018I\u2019m not going to get married, I\u2019m not going to get engaged, I\u2019m not going to fall in love,\u2019\u201d he says, but he does admit, \u201cI was skeptical that I was going to find anyone.\u201d Despite that assertion, Owens insisted at other points in the interview that his idea of an endgame did not include a marriage proposal. \u201cI\u2019m committed, but on my own terms,\u201d he says. \u201cI wasn\u2019t looking to get married right off the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Owens took a swipe at Cullers and her self-elimination during our interview. \u201cI had a stronger connection with Peg. It was evident. I think she knew it, and she wanted to leave so she wouldn\u2019t have the heartache.\u201d Cullers, for her part, said during After the Final Rose that she doesn\u2019t regret her decision. \u201cI don\u2019t need to convince a man to love me,\u201d she told Jesse Palmer.<\/p>\n

Even though a wedding is not on the horizon, Owens did find love with 62-year-old retired Las Vegas firefighter Peg Munson. \u201cI wasn\u2019t expecting it, but then all of a sudden it happened. She\u2019s beautiful and lovely. She treats me well, and we have a lot of fun together. That\u2019s what love is to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/strong>\u00a0recalled a run-in she had with\u00a0Lisa Vanderpump<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Ken Todd<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a0BravoCon<\/strong> over the weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n

As she also reacted to\u00a0Stacey Rusch<\/strong>, 53, suggesting she wasn\u2019t friendly, addressed\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw Ken and Lisa. And I sat there and I thought, \u2018Well, what should I do,\u2019 because it doesn\u2019t always go well when we see each other in person. So we both kind of \u2014 maybe she did see me, maybe she didn\u2019t. But as he was leaving, I said, \u2018Goodbye, Ken!\u2019 Kyle revealed, giving a nod to the way in which Ken\u00a0kicked her out of his home\u00a0on season nine. \u201cI don\u2019t know if he heard me or not, but I just had to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kyle then responded to the question about Stacey\u2019s comment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have to say, that\u2019s not a comment that usually comes from people because I\u2019m always friendly with everyone, and I\u2019m just going to be honest, I don\u2019t know the, I don\u2019t \u2014 god, this is not going to go over well, guys. I don\u2019t watch reality television,\u201d she explained. \u201cI don\u2019t watch a lot of these shows, and I don\u2019t know a lot of the newer people, so I don\u2019t always know, but I\u2019m nice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know which one she is. I\u2019m just being honest. I\u2019m not trying to be mean,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019ve not seen [The Real Housewives of Potomac<\/em><\/strong>] for many, many years. That\u2019s just the truth. I don\u2019t know all the cast members of all the shows. That\u2019s just a fact.\u201d<\/p>\n

When\u00a0Tamra Judge<\/strong>, 58, who was also on Kyle\u2019s panel at BravoCon, mentioned that Reza, 52, made a negative comment about her, as well, Kyle confirmed, \u201cI heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Reza\u2019s the first one who comes up to me and is so nice to me to my face \u2014 every time. So I just laugh,\u201d she stated, as seen in a clip shared to\u00a0Bravo\u2019s Story.<\/p>\n

Moving on to claims of not sharing enough of her life on\u00a0RHOBH<\/em>, Kyle admitted to being confused by the allegation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI always think, \u2018This is so wild to me because I\u2019ve shown my life for 15 years and everything, and people have seen a lot of great things that have happened with my family, Portia turning two years old, and now applying to college, which is so crazy, but I\u2019ve had\u00a0major falling outs\u00a0with my family. Having blood on the show is a very different thing than falling out with people that you\u2019re not as close with, and it was really painful to go through that in the public eye,\u201d she noted. \u201cI show so much. I\u2019m like, \u2018Do I need to put a camera in the shower or next to the toilet?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
