Legal experts are warning that President Donald Trump may find it difficult to prosecute former President Barack Obama after accusing him of treason, following the Supreme Court\u2019s immunity judgment last year.<\/p>\n
In Trump v. United States, the Supreme Court ruled that a president\u2019s immunity from criminal prosecution applies to all \u201cofficial acts.\u201d<\/p>\n
The accusations came as Tulsi Gabbard, Trump\u2019s director of national intelligence, alleged that Obama and his senior officials \u201cmanufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump\u201d after Trump won the 2016 election.<\/p>\n
Gabbard stated that she will be submitting a \u201ccriminal referral\u201d to the DOJ and FBI.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe evidence that we have found and have released directly point to President Obama leading the manufacturing of this intelligence assessment,\u201d Gabbard said.<\/p>\n
Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett spoke to anchor Sean Hannity on Wednesday night alongside Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan, where they discussed the fake Trump-Russia hoax.<\/p>\n
\u201cJohn Brennan. John Brennan, when he testified in front of the Congress, Chairman Gowdy, asked a series of questions. I think he was not square with the Congress, specifically about the dossier. I went back and read some of that transcript. There was a clip played earlier today on your fine network. I think John Brennan misled Congress, which you\u2019re not supposed to do. Now, again, statute of limitations, everything else, we\u2019ll have to see, but I so appreciate what Tulsi has done and the work that Pam is now putting together to go after these guys and get to the truth,\u201d Jordan declared.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the ongoing conspiracy is, for example, the raid on Mar-a-Lago and events thereafter, that\u2019s when the statute of limitations begins to count right there. So that\u2019s not an obstacle. But, you know, Barack Obama should be thanking Donald Trump. Why? Because he obtained from the U.S. Supreme Court the very kind of immunity that will protect Barack Obama,\u201d Jarret said.<\/p>\n
Gabbard declassified a previously unreleased 2020 report prepared by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.<\/p>\n
The report, dated September 18, 2020, stemmed from an investigation initiated by then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., chaired the committee at the time of the report\u2019s release.<\/p>\n
The committee\u2019s investigation centered on the development of the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment, highlighting how then-CIA Director John Brennan advocated for including the now-discredited anti-Trump dossier\u2014despite being aware it was largely based on \u201cinternet rumor.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the report, the ICA was a \u201chigh-profile product ordered by the President, directed by senior IC agency heads, and created by just five CIA analysts, using one principal drafter.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cProduction of the ICA was subject to unusual directives from the President and senior political appointees, and particularly DCIA,\u201d the report states. \u201cThe draft was not properly coordinated within CIA or the IC, ensuring it would be published without significant challenges to its conclusions.\u201d<\/p>\n
The committee found that the five CIA analysts and drafter \u201crushed\u201d the ICA\u2019s production \u201cin order to publish two weeks before President-elect Trump was sworn-in.\u201d<\/p>\n
The report states that Brennan \u201cordered the post-election publication of 15 reports containing previously collected but unpublished intelligence, three of which were substandard\u2014containing information that was unclear, of uncertain origin, potentially biased, or implausible\u2014and those became foundational sources for the ICA judgements that Putin preferred Trump over Clinton.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe ICA misrepresented these reports as reliable, without mentioning their significant underlying flaws,\u201d the committee found.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne scant, unclear, and unverifiable fragment of a sentence from one of the substandard reports constitutes the only classified information cited to suggest Putin \u2018aspired\u2019 to help Trump win,\u201d the report states, going on to say that the ICA \u201cignored or selectively quoted reliable intelligence reports that challenged-and in some cases undermined\u2014judgments that Putin sought to elect Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n
In addition, the committee said that a pair of senior CIA officers warned Brennan that \u201cwe don\u2019t have direct information that Putin wanted to get Trump elected.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, despite the warnings, the Obama regime moved to publish the ICA anyway.<\/p>\n
The ICA \u201cdid not cite any report where Putin directly indicated helping Trump win was the objective.\u201d<\/p>\n
House Republican leaders are weighing harsh action against Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) after her recent remarks about the late Charlie Kirk drew widespread condemnation.<\/p>\n
Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), who is running for U.S. Senate, is leading an effort to strip Omar of her committee assignments. Carter accused her and the \u201cradical left\u201d of normalizing the practice of meeting free speech with violence.<\/p>\n
On Monday, the Georgia Republican introduced a motion to remove Omar from the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, where she serves as the ranking Democrat on the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections.<\/p>\n
Critics seized on Omar\u2019s remarks last week in an interview with former MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan, where she said Charlie Kirk\u2019s death reminded her of his past positions on gun control.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what I do know for sure is that Charlie Kirk was someone who once said, \u2018Guns save lives\u2019 after a school shooting,\u201d Omar said. \u201cCharlie was someone who was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police \u2026 downplay slavery and what Black people have gone through in this country by saying Juneteenth should never exist.\u201d<\/p>\n
Omar then disagreed with commentators who framed Kirk as \u201cjust wanting to have a civil debate,\u201d which led Hasan to call falsely label their characterization a \u201ccomplete rewriting of history.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah,\u201d Omar responded. \u201cThere is nothing more effed up than to completely pretend that his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.\u201d She went on to accuse President Donald Trump of \u201cincit[ing] violence against people like me,\u201d though she has never been attacked or assaulted by someone on the right.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese people are full of s**t,\u201d Omar told Hasan about Republicans in general. \u201cAnd it\u2019s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness, and have, you know, empathy, which Charlie said, \u2018No, it shouldn\u2019t exist,\u2019 because that\u2019s a newly created word or something.\u201d<\/p>\n
She later tried to walk back her remarks on X, but Carter and some other Republican lawmakers aren\u2019t having it.<\/p>\n
\u201cDisparaging Charlie Kirk\u2019s legacy, a God-fearing, honorable man, for boldly sharing his conservative beliefs is disgusting. The radical left has normalized meeting free speech with violence, and it must stop,<\/p>\n
\u201cNo one who justifies the assassination of someone with different political views than them deserves to sit on a committee, and Ilhan Omar openly used language that incites violence toward her political opponents. Committees are for serious lawmakers, not hate-spewing politicians,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Kirk, 31, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated last week during a campus speaking event at Utah Valley University, sparking national outrage, a massive manhunt, and renewed debate over political violence in America.<\/p>\n
He was delivering remarks under a tent to a crowd of roughly 3,000 students and supporters on September 10 when a sniper-style shot struck him in the neck. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but died shortly afterward.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
