Despite\u00a0a promising start, Season 9 of\u00a09-1-1\u00a0<\/strong>has been a disappointment so far. Like usual, the season started with a wild opening emergency. Unlike usual, though, the first half of Season 9 has not had much else going on beyond the space crisis. There were four episodes dedicated to Hen (<\/p>\n 9-1-1\u00a0Season 9 is the first season since the death of Bobby Nash (Peter Krause<\/strong>), and the show has yet to get back on track after this major change. Most of the characters’ personal storylines so far this season have been related to their grief over Bobby, and then there have been bizarre storylines like the death of Eddie’s (<\/p>\n Ever since it was announced that May (Corinne Massiah<\/strong>) and Harry would have more significant roles in Season 9, it seemed likely that they would somehow become more involved in the world of first responders. May hasn’t yet had much to do in Season 9, so it’s unclear yet whether she will return to dispatch or whether she will possibly end up becoming a paramedic. Harry, on the other hand, has had a really compelling arc this season. He was initially lost and angry about Bobby’s death and Athena’s distance, and had dropped out of high school without telling Athena. When Buck (<\/p>\n Second only to Athena,\u00a0Harry has gotten the most developed arc of\u00a09-1-1\u00a0Season 9 so far.\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/strong>The season has shown him taking an interest in firefighting, working to get Athena to come around to the idea, and then asking Buck to help him train to get into the firefighting academy. Through this journey of working to become a first responder, Harry has opened up to Athena more about what he’s feeling, and he’s also found a new path forward after dropping out of high school. In the mid-season finale, Harry almost gave up on firefighting after his criminal record came out, but Buck encouraged him to push forward, and Harry finally forgave himself for his past arrest. Harry has come so far this season, and it feels fitting for his character arc, and right that, instead of bringing in someone new right now, the 118 would\u00a0welcome in another familiar face\u00a0in Bobby’s absence.<\/p>\n While Harry’s storyline this season has been strong,\u00a09-1-1\u00a0has been failing its other main characters in Season 9<\/p>\n <\/strong>. Athena had a beautiful storyline in the season’s fourth episode about working through her grief both past and present. Aside from this, though,\u00a09-1-1\u00a0Season 9 hasn’t had much notable character development outside of its major space emergency.\u00a09-1-1’s emergencies are certainly an important part of the show, but<\/p>\n Aside from an unusually short first half of the season,\u00a09-1-1\u00a0Season 9’s main issue is that\u00a0Bobby’s death has changed the show on a fundamental level.\u00a0<\/strong>To have the characters go back to normal from here would do a disservice to their relationships with Bobby, but nearly every personal storyline this season has been related to everyone’s grief over losing Bobby.\u00a0<\/p>\n When\u00a09-1-1\u00a0returns\u00a0from its mid-season hiatus, it needs to give more focus to the main characters’ personal storylines when they’re not dealing with life-and-death stakes.\u00a09-1-1\u00a0needs to show the 118 acting like a family again, both at work and outside of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n Credit: Iris Zimmerman\/INSTARimages, Todd Williamson\/Bravo<\/p>\n Margaret Josephs<\/strong>\u00a0isn\u2019t so sure about\u00a0<\/p>\n As Melissa, 46, reacted to questions surrounding the authenticity of their makeup session, as well as their motivation for making nice after\u00a0years of estrangement, the\u00a058-year-old\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI feel it shouldn\u2019t be played out in the press, and I think it\u2019s weird to be played out in the press, but that\u2019s just me,\u201d Margaret told\u00a0Us Weekly\u00a0at\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s their family. I want it to be genuine for the sake of Melissa and Joe \u2014 I know it\u2019s genuine on their part,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think things like this have to be done in a therapeutic setting and behind closed doors, and not to be played out in the press. This has been done many, many times.\u201d<\/p>\n Although Margaret is glad to see a family back together, she said she wouldn\u2019t be following\u00a0Melissa\u2019s lead\u00a0with a reunion of her own.<\/p>\n \u201cSome things would have to really change and it\u2019s not [the] right time,\u201d she shared of making up with Teresa, 53. \u201cI think there\u2019s too many things in the way, and it\u2019s just not correct.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t wish her any ill, because I think she has enough pain and enough\u00a0horrible things\u00a0going on, and I\u2019m concerned for her,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n As for season 15, Margaret said she would love for\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI love Jersey. I love what we had. I don\u2019t miss last season. That was ugly,\u201d she explained. \u201cI would love the fun Jersey to come back \u2026 I\u2019m not allowed to really discuss [test filming]. But, you know, Jersey is always doing something to keep it moving.\u201d<\/p>\n Also at BravoCon, Melissa addressed fans\u2019 questions about her and Joe\u2019s\u00a0newfound friendship\u00a0with Teresa during a panel event.<\/p>\n \u201cI know a lot of you, like, there\u2019s a lot of doubt. Right? Which, do I blame you? No. I understand that there\u2019s a lot of questions and there\u2019s a lot of people wondering if things are happening for the wrong reasons and if we\u2019re making up cuz we know we\u2019re the heart and soul of that show and we\u2019re gonna kind of try to bring it back,\u201d Melissa shared, as seen in a clip shared by\u00a0<\/p>\n In addition to seeing that her husband felt good about his reconciliation with Teresa, Melissa pointed out that she and Teresa have\u00a0seven children\u00a0between them who \u201cgrew up together.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo if my husband looks at me with relief in his face and has one sister on this planet and says, \u2018It\u2019s authentic. I feel it. She\u2019s being real, let\u2019s put trust. Let\u2019s try this,\u2019 I\u2019m never gonna look at him and say, \u2018No,\u2019\u201d she stated. \u201cI\u2019m never gonna be that girl. So I\u2019m gonna try.\u201d<\/p>\n Continuing on, Melissa said that she and Teresa have taken a different approach to making amends this time around.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re not doing it in front of the cameras this time \u2014 this time, which is different, and it feels different. So I have really good faith in this. So trust in us this time. Please, believe in us,\u201d she added. \u201cWe\u2019re just like, giggling and laughing.
