Dillon Gabriel\u2019s fianc\u00e9e had some strong words for Cleveland Browns fans who celebrated the rookie quarterback going down against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Gabriel started his fifth game of the season against the Ravens but didn\u2019t emerge from the locker room after the half. He was\u00a0placed in concussion protocol and was quickly ruled out.<\/p>\n
With Gabriel sidelined, Shedeur Sanders took over at quarterback and was met with\u00a0raucous cheers at Huntington Bank Field. Gabriel\u2019s fianc\u00e9e, Zo Caswell, offered an update on the Browns quarterback\u2019s condition and didn\u2019t hold back on fans who cheered his injury.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo those of you who have reached out concerned about Dillon, he is doing great and will be back soon! We are grateful for your support,\u201d\u00a0Caswell said in a TikTok video. \u201cAnd to the \u2018Browns\u2019 fans at the game on Sunday night, if you cheered at the start of the second half knowing he was hurt, there\u2019s a special place in h*** for you. You should feel ashamed of yourselves. Players are real people, not fictional characters in a movie. Do better, be better.\u201d<\/p>\n
One notable comment on the post came from Travis Hunter\u2019s wife, Leanna Hunter.<\/p>\n
\u201cTravis and I are sending you and Dillon SO MUCH love. God has so many good things in store for both of yall,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
To be fair, it wasn\u2019t immediately clear to those in the stadium that Gabriel had left the game because of an injury. He\u2019s struggled this season and had thrown for just 68 yards in the first half before exiting. Still, the crowd let its frustration show,\u00a0booing and even chanting for Sanders\u00a0whenever Gabriel misfired on a pass.<\/p>\n
Sanders was the recipient of loud cheers when he entered the game. But after the matchup,\u00a0Sanders called on fans to support Gabriel\u00a0when he\u2019s running the offense.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell first let me say this. Dillon\u2019s out there playing and all that, I appreciate the fans. I appreciate everybody, but I\u2019m a good person overall, so I don\u2019t really like him not feeling comfortable, confident when he gets out there,\u201d\u00a0Sanders said, referencing the boos. \u201cSo it puts everything in a tough spot and it\u2019s not helping the team. So that could be taken as, \u2018OK, I\u2019m being a distraction even though I ain\u2019t doing nothing,\u2019 You know? I\u2019m not doing nothing.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I\u2019m thankful for the supporters, thankful for the fans, thankful for everybody out there that believes. And yeah, when I got out there, I definitely felt them, and I\u2019m truly thankful for it. I\u2019m thankful, seeing all them \u201912\u2019 jerseys out there, and it was a great feeling for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gabriel\u2019s status for Sunday is uncertain but it appears unlikely he\u2019ll be cleared to play on Sunday against the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders. Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com said it\u2019s almost a certainty that Sanders will draw his first\u00a0NFL\u00a0start this week.<\/p>\n
\u201cBrowns Shedeur Sanders is expected to start Sunday\u2019s game in Las Vegas with Dillon Gabriel in the concussion protocol. Barring something unexpected, Sanders will make his starting debut, becoming the 42nd Browns starter since 1999,\u201d\u00a0Cabot wrote on X.<\/p>\n
The Browns have yet to make an official announcement. Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said on Monday he\u2019d provide an update later in the week when more was known about Gabriel\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n
Sanders completed just 4-of-16 passes in his half of action against the Ravens for 47 yards with an interception.<\/p>\n
The Denver Broncos have seen their young playmakers take leading roles in critical moments this season, and one of them, Pat Bryant, garnered attention from the NFL after his performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11.<\/p>\n
The No. 74 overall pick of the 2025 draft, Bryant arrived amid lofty comparisons.<\/p>\n
And while it has taken time, Bryant has seen a\u00a0tremendous uptick\u00a0in production over the last four weeks for the Broncos, who boast the best record in the\u00a0NFL\u00a0at 92 entering their bye.<\/p>\n

\u201cWR @PatBryant is up for @NFL Rookie of the Week!\u201d the\u00a0Broncos posted\u00a0on X on November 18, urging fans to \u201ccongratulate\u201d the youngster by reporting and to \u201cvote\u201d for him.<\/p>\n
DenverBroncos.com\u2019s Aric DiLalla called it the \u201cmost productive performance of his young career, noting Bryant \u201cled all Broncos receivers in receptions in Sunday\u2019s 22-19 win over the Chiefs, with grabs, turning them into 82 yards.<\/p>\n
Bryant had a critical 48-yard grab to set up a score, and four of his catches went for first downs.<\/p>\n
Bryant is facing stiff competition from his fellow rookie playmakers who were also nominated for their Week 11 showings.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0other nominees\u00a0are linebackers\u00a0Carson Schwesinger\u00a0(Cleveland Browns) and\u00a0Cody Simon\u00a0(Arizona Cardinals), running backs\u00a0Bhayshul Tuten\u00a0(Jacksonville Jaguars) and\u00a0TreVeyon Henderson\u00a0(New England Patriots).<\/p>\n
Carolina Panthers\u00a0wideout\u00a0Tetairoa McMillan\u00a0is the final contender Bryant must beat out.<\/p>\n
Bryant has 15 receptions for 231 yards and 1 touchdown this season. However, he has a 10-185-1 line on 15 targets over the last four games.<\/p>\n
DiLalla noted that Broncos rookie running back\u00a0RJ Harvey, the No. 60 overall pick of the class,\u00a0won the award\u00a0for his 3-TD effort in Week 8 against the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys. However,\u00a0Eddie Royal\u00a0(2008) is the last Broncos receiver to win it.<\/p>\n
For Bryant, this is the payoff of what Broncos head coach\u00a0Sean Payton\u00a0has said all along.<\/p>\n

Payton compared Bryant\u00a0to former\u00a0New Orleans Saints\u00a0star\u00a0Michael Thomas, which the Broncos rookie appreciated while making it clear he\u00a0wanted to carve out his own lane.<\/p>\n
However, Payton\u2019s affinity for Bryant went beyond surface-level comparisons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s little things that we\u2019re coaching up. But you like what you see. I like what I see. And so, he\u2019s tough. And look, there\u2019s things that \u2026 you\u2019re immediately on these guys, and that\u2019s good to great. That\u2019s coaching. But interview him, be around him. It\u2019s so important to him,\u201d\u00a0Payton told reporters\u00a0following mandatory minicamp in June.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would say that\u2019s probably the case with so many of these young guys. It\u2019s not an accident. There\u2019s a profile we\u2019re looking for. And it\u2019s not easy, always. Sometimes that requires more trips and visits. But we\u2019re looking for a certain profile.\u201d<\/p>\n
Payton name-dropped Bryant\u00a0when praising Harvey ahead of the Broncos\u2019 Week 11 showdown against the Chiefs, saying they were \u201cwatching Pat Bryant grow right in front of our eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n
