Former Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson received an ominous update this week, directly from Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski during a press conference. The three-time Pro Bowler sent a short message after receiving even more unfortunate news.<\/p>\n
Watson is currently on the Reserve\/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list after re-tearing his Achilles tendon in January.<\/p>\n
He has documented his work to return to the field, but he has taken a major blow in that regard.<\/p>\n
Watson, the No. 12 overall pick by the Texans in 2017, took to Instagram on Tuesday evening, and, like he has in the past, many of the images shared were of the veteran QB working out at the Browns\u2019 facilities.<\/p>\n
However, Watson also posted \u201cBe READY! MoreGLORY. [spade emoji] along with the series of images.<\/p>\n
The post comes on a new report that he will have to wait \u201cat least\u201d one more week to return.<\/p>\n
\u201cDeshaun Watson continues to make excellent progress in his comeback from a re-ruptured Achilles, but the Browns aren\u2019t opening his 21-day practice window this week,\u201d Cleveland.com\u2019s Mary Kay Cabot wrote on November 11. \u201cBut the Browns will wait at least until at least Week 12 against the Raiders to designate Watson for return from reserve\/Physically Unable to Perform. They expect to have more clarity on his timeframe over the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Browns must be judicious on when they open the practice window, because they\u2019ll have to activate him to the 53-man roster during that three-week span or he reverts to reserve\/PUP for the remainder of the season.\u201d<\/p>\n
Cabot expressed similar sentiments about the Browns\u2019 plans for Watson\u2019s timeline on the heels of Stefanski also seemingly suggesting waiting was their plan.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not sure if [activating Watson is] what we\u2019re doing,\u201d Stefanski said on November 10.<\/p>\n
Watson also posted some of the images and messages to his Instagram story, including one that read \u201cconsistency looks like nothing is happening. Until everything changes.\u201d<\/p>\n
