DANCING with the Stars\u2019 former host, Tom Bergeron, has slammed the show\u2019s production changes, five years after his departure.<\/p>\n
Tom, the original host of the competition series, is\u00a0returning as a guest judge during Tuesday night\u2019s episode to celebrate the show\u2019s 20th anniversary.<\/p>\n
It will be the TV star\u2019s first time in the ballroom since his firing in 2020, after butting heads with the then-showrunner over allowing the casting of political figures, specifically Donald Trump\u2019s former White House Press Secretary, Sean Spicer, in Season 28.<\/p>\n
Tom discussed his comeback in an interview with\u00a0The Hollywood Reporter\u00a0and ripped the production team for numerous \u201cunfair\u201d adjustments they made to the show in recent years.<\/p>\n
For one, the 70-year-old insisted that eliminating the results show, which was axed in 2013 when ABC phased out the second weekly episode as part of its significant format change, was a mistake.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe\u00a0ratings have proven\u00a0it\u2019s time to bring back the results show. I always mourned the loss of that Tuesday show,\u201d Tom admitted, referencing when the performances used to air on Mondays, followed by the results reveal on Tuesdays.<\/p>\n

Now, the results are announced at the end of Tuesday\u2019s two-hour episodes, giving viewers less time to vote on their favorites.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought [the results show] made the voting more fair across the country, because the West Coast can\u2019t vote now unless they\u2019re watching on wherever the hell you\u2019d watch it streamed live,\u201d Tom pointed out.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe results show was great. It was like a variety show with an elimination at the end. I think the ratings now would really speak to it being time to bring that back,\u201d the TV personality added.<\/p>\n
Fans reacted to Tom\u2019s comments on social media, with many agreeing that a revival of the results show is way overdue.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt the very, very least give us a 2-night finale again PLEASE,\u201d one person wrote in a\u00a0Reddit\u00a0thread.<\/p>\n
\u201cI could see the results show being brought back before a spring season,\u201d a second remarked. \u201cI miss the results show and would love to have it back! Behind the scenes looks,\u201d said a fourth.<\/p>\n \u201cI miss the results shows so much! and the partner swap was always so interesting seeing how the celebrity would do with different partners,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n Tom also confessed that he has no plans to return to hosting permanently, despite fans\u2019 pleas for him to replace\u00a0Alfonso Ribeiro in the role.<\/p>\n \u201cNo, I\u2019m done. I\u2019m done,\u201d the America\u2019s Funniest Home Videos host told the outlet. \u201cThey have a permanent host, and he\u2019s really good. I have no desire to host anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n Alfonso stepped in as co-host alongside\u00a0Tyra Banks\u00a0in 2022.<\/p>\n He now co-hosts with former\u00a0DWTS\u00a0pro and judge\u00a0Julianne Hough.<\/p>\n Still, Tom is excited to get back on set, as he revealed on\u00a0Good Morning America\u00a0last week that he\u2019s been \u201creminiscing\u201d over the good times he had throughout the show\u2019s first 28 seasons when he was the host.<\/p>\n He also revealed he\u2019s eager to see performances from some of this season\u2019s favorites, and judge contestant Andy Richter, after he and his partner, Emma Slater, repeatedly dodged elimination, despite consistently landing at the bottom of the leaderboard.<\/p>\n \u201cHe epitomizes what I always thought the show was at its best,\u201d Tom said about the comedian.<\/p>\n Season 34 of DWTS continues on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. EST, on ABC and\u00a0Disney+, with the remaining six contestants taking the stage, along with many past competitors as part of the big birthday bash.<\/p>\n The episode will also feature first-round dances to iconic freestyles from the last two decades, as well as an opportunity for contestants to perform competitive dances to earn bonus points.<\/p>\n RHOC cast member Tamra Judge has *officially* reunited with Vicki Gunvalson after their major fallout.\u00a0<\/p>\n Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson have officially reunited and are “leaving the toxic behind.” The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member and RHOC alum had fallen out in their friendship in January 2024 (more on that down below), but have since reconciled with one another and are looking forward to their future as friends.<\/p>\n Tamra took to her Instagram account on Nov. 7, where she posted a video of her and Vicki to her feed. “Reunited…and leaving the toxic behind,” she wrote in the caption of the post. I always say, we’re like sisters,” Tamra said.<\/p>\n “It’s that love-hate relationship all the time,” she added. “I’m talking sisterly love. Like, you have little arguments.
