President Donald Trump on Friday narrowed the reach of his global tariff policy, removing duties on several grocery staples as the administration confronted growing public frustration over persistent food costs. A Nov. 14 executive order said new recommendations and progress in trade negotiations made it \u201cnecessary and appropriate to further modify the scope\u201d of products covered by the tariffs.<\/p>\n

The directive also stated that \u201ccertain agricultural products shall not be subject to the reciprocal tariff imposed under Executive 14257, as amended.\u201d<\/p>\n

The move adjusts portions of the \u201creciprocal tariffs\u201d Trump introduced in April under his \u201cLiberation Day\u201d national emergency declaration, which focused on reducing trade deficits,\u00a0the Daily Caller reported.<\/p>\n

A White House fact sheet released with the order states \u201ccertain qualifying agricultural products will no longer be subject to those tariffs, such as certain food not grown in the United States.\u201d Specifically affected items include \u201ccoffee and tea; tropical fruits and fruit juices; cocoa and spices; bananas, oranges, and tomatoes; beef; and additional fertilizers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hours after the order was announced, Trump described the change as a targeted adjustment. \u201cWe just did a little bit of a rollback on some foods like coffee,\u201d Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.<\/p>\n

Asked if the tariffs contributed to higher food prices, Trump acknowledged that it was likely \u201cI say they may, in some cases,\u201d but he added, \u201cto a large extent they\u2019ve been borne by other countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

The rollbacks come as prices for key grocery items continue to climb, including an 18.9% increase in roasted coffee, a 12.9% rise in ground beef, and a 6.9% increase in bananas compared with September 2025, according to the latest Consumer Price Index data.<\/p>\n

The revised tariff order marks a notable shift in President Trump\u2019s second-term economic strategy, which has centered on sweeping global import duties aimed at bolstering U.S. manufacturing. The move also follows a series of Democratic victories in November\u2019s off-year elections, in which concerns about the cost of living played a significant role among voters, the Caller added.<\/p>\n

That said, the victories were mostly all in solid blue areas, leaving some political analysts to question whether they were really a rejection of Trump and Republicans.<\/p>\n

Democrats claimed the rollback validated their opposition to the tariffs. \u201cPresident Trump is finally admitting what we always knew: his tariffs are raising prices for the American people,\u201d Rep. Don Beyer of Virginia wrote in a statement Friday. He further claimed that, after recent electoral losses, \u201cthe White House is trying to cast this tariff retreat as a \u2018pivot to affordability.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She has sent out an urgent note that says,\u00a0\u201cIf you see a stroller, car seat, or any type of baby situation alone in the middle of nowhere, please, I repeat, don\u2019t get out. Be safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

This warning was met with an instant and widespread response. Numerous folks concurred and voiced their own worries:<\/p>\n

The robbers strike when a good-hearted person pulls over to see how the stroller is doing. frequently resulting in bodily harm or robbery.<\/p>\n

There have previously been similar cautions given. But the most recent post has drawn a lot of attention, with comments about how cruel it is to use a baby as bait coming from all around the world.<\/p>\n

Public Reactions:\u00a0\u201cOMG \u2013 I would be out of the car so fast to check, thanks for the warning,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0said one mother.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u201cabandoned baby\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0hoax is a subset of a larger pattern of dishonest tactics intended to take advantage of kindhearted people. Scams that are comparable to this one also include:<\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u201cDead Man\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0is a roadside character that appears to be unconscious.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0\u201cScreaming Woman\u201d<\/strong>: People cry out for assistance, only to have those who respond to them ambushed.<\/p>\n

Individuals discussed their own encounters and the guidance they were given:<\/p>\n

Police Advice:\u00a0\u201cI pulled over to help a man passed out on the side of the road once. The police officer yelled at me and said it is often a scam and as a single woman I should be more careful.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Women Scammers:\u00a0\u201cI have heard of women screaming for help only to do the same thing. Just call the cops and move on.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

With 23,000 shares and thousands of comments, the viral post highlights the general worry and the necessity of maintaining vigilance.<\/p>\n

Although it is admirable to want to help, it is important to put one\u2019s own safety first and let the authorities to handle potentially harmful circumstances.<\/p>\n

Being alert and careful is crucial in a world where frauds are getting more and more sophisticated.<\/p>\n
