Residents were left shaken on Tuesday evening after giant hailstones<\/strong> pounded the small town, transforming what began as a peaceful night into a scene of chaos, noise, and disbelief.<\/p>\n

The storm arrived with <\/p>\n

The sound was deafening<\/strong>. Massive chunks of ice hammered against rooftops, cars, fences, and pavement with such force that many people compared it to \u201c<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like the roof was about to collapse,\u201d one resident recalled, still visibly shaken. \u201cEvery impact sounded like a hard punch hitting metal.\u201d Others described watching in disbelief as their cars were dented within seconds and tree branches snapped under the weight of the hail.<\/p>\n

By the time the storm passed, the damage was widespread. Dozens of vehicles were battered<\/strong>, windshields shattered into spiderweb-like fragments, and several homes suffered significant roof damage<\/strong>, with holes torn open by the relentless barrage of ice. Streets were left <\/p>\n

Local authorities issued emergency warnings shortly after the storm intensified, urging residents to stay indoors until conditions improved. Emergency crews and public works teams were soon deployed to assess damage, clear blocked roads, and assist families whose homes had been affected.<\/p>\n

Many in the community believe this may be one of the most extreme weather events<\/strong> the town has experienced in years. As residents continue cleaning up and repairing the damage, meteorologists are investigating what caused the storm to strengthen so suddenly and unleash such unusually large hailstones.<\/p>\n

But, the loss of a particular loved one can have a greater impact on us than we anticipate.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Have you ever, for instance, dreamt about a person who is no longer living? You may not have given any thought to the significance of their appearance in your dreams.<\/p>\n

Everyone grieves differently after the loss of a loved one. Many people cry their hearts out, while others go silent and withdraw inward.<\/p>\n

Some people act as if nothing has happened or try to avoid thinking about it. Nonetheless, many people share the practice of remembering departed loved ones in their dreams.<\/p>\n

The subconscious decides what we dream about at night, and if you\u2019ve ever dreamed about a dead person, it could imply something.<\/p>\n

So, can dead people communicate with us in our dreams?<\/p>\n

Visitation dreams are what people have when they have visions of the deceased, according to Patrick McNamara, associate professor of neurology and psychiatry at the Boston University School.<\/p>\n

\u201cDreams of the bereaved where the dead appear to the bereaved in dreams and look to be very much alive,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0as McNamara puts it.<\/p>\n

The 67-year-old neuroscientist blogs often under the name Dream Catcher on the website Psychology Today.<\/p>\n

McNamara has written extensively about dreams and their interpretation. And he claims there\u2019s generally a rational explanation for visitation dreams.<\/p>\n

They aid in the process of healing from emotional trauma.<\/p>\n

He writes about a dream he had after the death of his parents. McNamara argued that this type of dream, known as a\u00a0\u201cvisitation dream,\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0was evidence of survival after physical death after having one himself.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow if I, an individual who studied dreams with a skeptical scientific cast of mind, could not shake the conviction that I had just communicated with my dead parents, how much stronger must be the conviction of someone with a less skeptical approach to dreams than me?,\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/strong>\u00a0McNamara writes.<\/p>\n

There are more people than just Patrick McNamara who are curious about dreams like these, and a number of studies have been conducted to learn more about them.<\/p>\n

A study analyzing the effects of mourning dreams was published in 2014 in the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care.<\/p>\n

\u201cDreams of the deceased occur frequently, can be highly meaningful and further healing from a loss.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0the study concluded.<\/p>\n

Themes in the dreams included\u00a0\u201cpast memories or experiences, the deceased free of illness, memories of the deceased\u2019s illness or time of death, the deceased in the afterlife appearing healthy, comfortable and at peace as well as the deceased communicating a message.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2016, a group of Canadian researchers examined the dreams of 76 middle-aged people who had just experienced a significant loss.<\/p>\n

Those who had just lost a loved one, 67.1% said that dreaming about the departed strengthened their faith in a hereafter.<\/p>\n

Seventy percent said they felt like they were having visits from the dead in their dreams, and 71 percent said that dreaming about the dead strengthened their sense of connection to the departed.<\/p>\n

Jennifer E. Shorter, a psychologist at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California, has also studied the links between our waking lives and our dreams.<\/p>\n

There is no way to tell how often visitation dreams are, the author of\u00a0\u201cVisitation Dreams in Grieving Individuals: A Phenomenological Investigation into the Connection Between Dreams and the Grieving\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0states.<\/p>\n

Yet, this might occur either shortly after death or years later. According to her findings, there are four distinguishing features of a visitation dream:<\/p>\n

1. In a visitation dream, the deceased seem as they did in real life, yet they are either healthier or younger than they were in real life.<\/p>\n

2. The deceased often says something about how they are now, for example, that they are fine.<\/p>\n

3. The dream\u2019s meaning is felt less as a tangible presence and more as a telepathic one.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0The dream state is usually peaceful and well-structured, bordering on harmony.<\/p>\n
