Okay, everyone stay calm — or don’t, because apparently 1,000 hikers have gone missing in America’s forests and the internet is now collectively losing its mind over a blurry piece of footage that “proves” Bigfoot has gone from harmless folklore to full-blown serial kidnapper.

Yes, that’s right, the world’s most mysterious fur-covered recluse is back, and this time he’s not just photobombing hikers — he’s allegedly taking them.

Forget UFOs, forget Loch Ness — the new king of internet hysteria is Bigfoot himself, and he’s apparently hungry for hikers and attention.

The madness started when a “trail cam” video appeared online showing what looks like a nine-foot creature dragging something vaguely human-shaped through the trees.

It’s grainy, it’s terrifying, and of course, it’s incredibly convenient that it was filmed at 3 a. m. with a camera made in 1996.

But the damage is done — TikTokers are shrieking, Facebook moms are reposting “BE SAFE OUT THERE” warnings, and Reddit has officially declared this “The Great Hiker Harvest of 2025. ”

According to the original post, over 1,000 hikers have disappeared in the past few months from national parks across the U. S. , all near dense forests and remote trails.

And wouldn’t you know it — all of them near places long rumored to be “Bigfoot territory. ”

Theories are exploding faster than a campfire in a dry season.

“He’s been watching us for years,” one user wrote dramatically.

“Now he’s had enough. ”

Another insisted, “They’re not missing — they’re building a Bigfoot civilization underground. ”

Meanwhile, a third posted, “If my cousin Jerry shows up in a fur suit to mess with me again, I swear I’m calling the cops. ”

Whatever the truth, people are eating it up like it’s a Netflix true-crime special.

According to one fake “cryptozoologist” who’s apparently on every talk show now, Dr.

Dirk Wisenheimer of the North American Mythic Species Institute, “This could be the largest coordinated predator event in modern history.

If Bigfoot is behind these disappearances, we’re not talking about one creature — we’re talking about a colony. ”

That’s right — a Bigfoot army.

Because one is never enough when you’re writing for the internet.

Even the government’s getting dragged into this.

Some conspiracy theorists claim the U. S. Forest Service has been quietly removing “Bigfoot evidence” for years, allegedly covering up DNA samples and shredded tents.

One viral post even shows what it says is a “classified” ranger memo warning staff to “avoid reporting unusual footprints. ”

Naturally, there’s zero proof, but proof is optional when panic is trending.

And speaking of panic — hikers everywhere are canceling trips faster than you can say “bear spray. ”

Outdoor forums are filled with new “safety checklists” that include ridiculous items like “extra flares,” “GPS jammers,” and “a playlist of heavy metal to scare off predators. ”

One guy on YouTube claims to have built a “Bigfoot deterrent” out of Christmas lights and bacon grease.

Spoiler: it’s not working.

Of course, the footage itself has been analyzed to death.

Some say it’s a hoax filmed with a guy in a ghillie suit.

Others insist it’s the real deal.

There’s one frame — just one — where you can allegedly see a huge hand gripping a backpack strap.

Experts (and by experts, we mean people on TikTok using slow-mo) have circled the blurry blob in red and screamed, “LOOK AT THAT THUMB!” because apparently, blurry thumbs are proof of cryptid involvement.

Then there’s the missing hiker count — 1,000.

A suspiciously round number.

Where did it come from? No one knows.

But one particularly dramatic local news anchor delivered it with a trembling voice, calling it “a silent epidemic sweeping the wilderness. ”

Another “insider” told tabloids, “We found camps with no signs of struggle.

It’s like they just walked off. ”

Or, you know, got lost — but where’s the fun in that?

Meanwhile, opportunists are already cashing in.

Etsy sellers are making “I Survived the Bigfoot Apocalypse” T-shirts.

A horror movie producer in Los Angeles has already announced a film called Bigfoot: The Vanishing, set to begin filming “as soon as the panic dies down. ”

And believe it or not, a popular survival influencer just dropped a “Bigfoot-Proof Camping Kit” that includes a whistle, a flashlight, and a can of monster repellent spray (which is just bug spray with a new label).

Capitalism never sleeps — even in the face of mythical woodland kidnappers.

Let’s talk about the footage again, because it’s that ridiculous.

It allegedly shows Bigfoot’s glowing eyes (which look suspiciously like a raccoon’s), his enormous hairy silhouette, and what one frame shows as “a pile of something resembling bones. ”

But even if you zoom in 1,000%, it still looks like a pile of sticks.

That hasn’t stopped “experts” from speculating that this could be the “nesting ground” of an entire Sasquatch family.

One self-proclaimed wildlife tracker went on TV to say, “The spacing of the logs indicates large bipedal construction.

This isn’t human.

This isn’t bear.

This is Bigfoot real estate. ”

Even mainstream outlets can’t resist.

Morning talk shows are running segments titled “Is Bigfoot the New Predator?” and one particularly dramatic host asked, “If Bigfoot can take hikers… what’s next?” as if the creature is about to start knocking on suburban doors.

Paranormal podcasts are having a field day, dropping episodes like “The Missing 1000: Bigfoot’s Revenge” and “National Park Nightmare. ”

But here’s where it gets really spicy — rumor has it, the footage wasn’t just “found. ”

Sources claim it was leaked.

Supposedly, a park ranger shared it anonymously after “authorities refused to release the truth. ”

The ranger allegedly said, “We’ve known for years something was out there.

Now it’s hunting. ”

Conveniently, no one knows who this ranger is, and all the screenshots are just grainy text messages with no names attached.

But that doesn’t matter, because people want to believe.

By now, Bigfoot has gone from cryptid to cultural icon.

He’s not hiding anymore — he’s trending.

Hashtags like #BigfootAttack, #HikerApocalypse, and #SasquatchRevenge are everywhere.

Someone even started a TikTok dance challenge called “The Bigfoot Stomp,” where people film themselves pretending to get dragged off camera.

Because why not? If the world’s ending in the woods, at least it’s going viral.

Of course, scientists are rolling their eyes so hard they might sprain them.

“Bigfoot has never been proven to exist,” one zoologist reminded reporters, “and this footage looks like a person in a costume filmed through a sock. ”

But that’s exactly what someone in on the cover-up would say, right? Because in tabloid world, logic is for losers.

Let’s be honest — whether Bigfoot’s out there snatching hikers or not, the legend just got a major PR boost.

He’s back in headlines, scarier than ever, and somehow more believable in 2025 than in 1975.

Maybe because people want to believe something wild still exists.

Something mysterious, something that can’t be explained — and definitely something that gives you an excuse not to go hiking.

So, is Bigfoot real? Did he just kidnap 1,000 people? Probably not.

But are people going to spend the next six months freaking out, posting blurry forest videos, and claiming to hear footsteps outside their tents? Absolutely.

Because in the age of internet hysteria, Bigfoot doesn’t need to exist — he just needs Wi-Fi.

Until then, campers, keep your marshmallows close and your cameras closer.

Because if Bigfoot really is out there, you don’t want to be his next viral clip.

Stay tuned, folks — because this time, it’s not bears taking hikers.

It’s Bigfoot.

And he’s trending.
