A lot of times, events blindside us out of nowhere, hitting with something we never expected and challenging us in ways we never imagined. That\u2019s as true offscreen as it is on a soap opera like\u00a0<\/p>\n

Once again talking to\u00a0TV Insider, this time at the Peacock soap\u2019s 60th anniversary celebration, Rogers shared, \u201cI\u2019m getting my energy back. I\u2019m at about 70%.\u201d That same day, she revealed to\u00a0People\u00a0that she\u2019s now in remission after a very \u201crough\u201d summer, having had the cancer removed and going through radiation. \u201cBut I didn\u2019t lose my hair. I guess I got it early. I was stage two, and it was a certain kind of chemo that they gave me, it was pills and the radiation, and it didn\u2019t affect it so that was good.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last month, we reported that Rogers had started treatment in June, undergoing radiation and chemo five days a week for six weeks. That overlapped a good deal with\u00a0Days of Our Lives<\/p>\n

<\/em>\u2018 own six-week summer break, so she could mostly keep it under wraps. She leaned on her friend, Sunie Ostermann and Linsey Godfrey (Sarah), especially as Rogers\u2019 onscreen daughter was also a cancer survivor \u2014 and an incredible pillar of support as Rogers went through the ordeal.<\/p>\n

Godfrey would sit and hold her TV mother\u2019s hand while she sat through the infusions, and dinners with Sarah\u2019s portrayer, her daughter Aleda and Paul Telfer (Xander) were a source of comfort. Because unlike the drama and the anger that\u2019s playing out onscreen right now, the actors themselves couldn\u2019t be closer. \u201cI knew I could count on them,\u201d Rogers shares, \u201cso it was a lovely experience on and off the set. We really feel like a family.\u201d<\/p>\n

But treatment takes a lot out of you, and while Rogers wrapped it at the end of July, she\u2019s only now returning to work next week. Since the show shoots 10 months in advance, we won\u2019t see Maggie\u2019s absence until around the end of\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now that Rogers is through the ordeal and has come out the other side, she wanted the fans to know what had happened and give a heads up about Maggie\u2019s eventual disappearance. \u201cThere\u2019s been some things on Facebook that said that I had retired and I had left the show,\u201d she notes to\u00a0TV Insider, \u201cand none of that is true. I don\u2019t want to upset anybody, but I want them to know what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maggie may be taking a break in the future because of battle, but neither she, nor Rogers are going anywhere. Her treatment is done and every day the\u00a0Days of Our Lives\u00a0<\/p>\n

Quick on the heels of famously sassy, phrase-turning R&B singer and reality TV star Tamar Braxton\u2019s announcement her recently released album, \u201cBluebird of Happiness,\u201d will be her last \u2014 at least for a while \u2014 and news that her husband, music executive husband Vincent Herbert, founder of Streamline Records, was legally ordered to pay Sony more than $3.7 million to settle a lawsuit over a 2013 advance, the couple hoisted their grandly proportioned and glamorously appointed Mediterranean mansion in Calabasas, Calif., up for sale at $15 million.<\/p>\n

The Herbert-Braxtons, married in late 2007 after about five years together, purchased the 13,716-square-foot mansion inside the double-gated Estates at The Oaks enclave in April 2013 for $10.5 million and public records show since then there have been several notices of default filed and subsequently canceled against the two-acre spread that provides a total of seven bedrooms and nine full and two half bathrooms between the main house and poolside guesthouse.<\/p>\n

Wrought iron and glass front doors open to an entry vestibule and foyer with black and white floral-patterned inlaid floor and a floating, wrought iron railed staircase that curves up to the bedrooms on the second floor. The main living and entertaining space makes a great sweep across the rear of the residence with gleaming wide-plank hardwood floors laid in a classy chevron pattern.<\/p>\n

A central gallery with glossy grand piano is flanked to one side by a lounge with semi-circular sofa in front of an ornate fireplace and to the other by a \u201cchampagne bar\u201d modeled after The Dorchester Hotel in London with tufted velvet sofas and a stately wood-paneled ceiling.<\/p>\n

Arched French doors open the vast space to an immense, stone-paved loggia with retractable canvas shade awnings and a bowling alley-length dining table that easily seats at least two-dozen al fresco diners. With elaborately carved cabinetry, granite countertops and a super-sized commercial-style range under a hand-hammered copper hood, the kitchen is open to a spacious informal dining area that, in turn, opens to a family room with fireplace and French doors to the backyard.<\/p>\n

The three-story mansion\u2019s creature comfort also include a home theater, a game room, an office, a wine cellar with tasting room and, unsurprisingly, a recording studio along with an elevator, an camera-equipped security system, a gentlemen\u2019s lounge with authentic barber chair, a mirror-walled gym and a subterranean parking garage that will accommodate over a dozen cars. The mansion makes a U-shaped embrace around a broad and grassy courtyard with swimming pool and spa beyond which a soccer pitch-sized lawn gives way to a panoramic view over rugged ravines and undeveloped mountaintops.<\/p>\n

Some of the other, equally sized and similarly luxurious estates in The Estates sections of The Oaks are owned by reality television\u2019s Kourtney and Khlo\u00e9 Kardashian, Michael Jackson\u2019s mother Katherine Jackson, Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and Jay McGraw, elder son of extraordinarily well-compensated TV therapist Dr. Phil McGraw, and his Playboy model wife Erica Dahm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
