Jordan Love Powers Through Shoulder Injury to Lead Packers Past Giants in 27-20 Victory

Posted on November 18, 2025

Quarterback suffered a shoulder injury and missed some snaps during the Giants game, but was able to play through it and lead the Packers to a big victory.

It was a tense afternoon for the Green Bay Packers, with several players missing snaps because of injury. Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs, Romeo Doubs, Matthew Golden, Zach Tom, Karl Brooks, Quay Walker, and Arron Mosby all had issues popping up throughout the game.

In Love’s case, he had to miss part of the second drive after suffering a shoulder hit, but he played through it and was key for the Packers to beat the New York Giants 27-20.

“It was tough,” Love revealed after the game. “I went in and got evaluated, and I figured it was good enough to come back, so I came back in. But it was definitely not fun. It’s just a small injury. So we’ll reevaluate it when we get back, look at it, see what’s going on. But it’s not fun.”

At first, Love went into the blue medical tent, but he had to go to the locker room for more tests before getting back on the field.

“You get X-rayed, get taped up, and see what kind of severity it is and come back,” Love explained. “But it happened on the hit. I lowered my shoulder, and he gave me a good pop. So I felt it right away. It was right to the sideline, and thought I was able to make a move and didn’t. He was right there, and I lowered my shoulder. I wish I would have just gone out of bounds or tried to slide right there and got a good hit.”

Thankfully for Love and the Packers, the injury was on the left side, which made it easier for the right-handed quarterback to keep playing.

“It was definitely manageable,” Love said. “Something I was able to play through. It definitely was there, but it was manageable.”

The most concerning injury of the day happened to Jacobs. He left the game in the first half, right after Love went to the locker room as well. Jacobs was declared questionable, then ruled out because of a knee injury.

“Any time a player doesn’t, especially of his magnitude, but any time a player doesn’t finish a game, you’re always concerned about the welfare of them,” head coach Matt LaFleur said after the game.

Without Jacobs, the Packers only have Emanuel Wilson and Chris Brooks on the 53-man roster. Pierre Strong Jr. is on the practice squad, and MarShawn Lloyd is still recovering from a hamstring injury — he’s been the entire regular season on the injured reserve.

Now, the Packers have a full week of preparation before starting a sequence of three consecutive divisional games — in order, vs. the Minnesota Vikings, at the Detroit Lions, and vs. the Chicago Bears.

On Sunday night, Scott Morrow made his New York Rangers debut after being called up from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League earlier that day.

The Rangers acquired Morrow over the summer as part of the sign-and-trade deal with the Carolina Hurricanes centered around K’Andre Miller.

During training camp, Morrow was given an opportunity to make the opening-night roster, as he played in multiple preseason games while practicing on the second power-play unit.

He was one of the last players to be sent down to the AHL before the start of the 2025-26 season. In 11 games for the Wolf Pack, Morrow recorded one goal, one assist, and two points.

With Will Borgen out with an upper-body injury, the Rangers called up Morrow, and he was immediately slotted into the lineup in place of Urho Vaakanainen.

The 23-year-old defenseman played 9:56 minutes in his NHL season debut, the fewest amongst all Rangers blueliners.

However, Rangers assistant coach David Quinn praised Morrow for his performance.

“I liked his game. I thought Scotty did a good job,” Quinn said. “I thought he kept it simple. He moves the puck well, gets us out of our end when we needed to get out of our end when the chances presented themselves. I thought he defended well.”

Borgen’s injury status remains a mystery, so it’s possible Morrow could find himself back in the lineup on Tuesday night when the Rangers go up against the Vegas Golden Knights.
