Packers ‘Concerned’ on Josh Jacobs After Knee Injury

The Packers went to New York in Week 11 seeking to right themselves after two disastrous losses at home, on Monday night to the Eagles, and back in Week 9 to the Panthers, games in which they produced a measly 20 points of offense. And in a sense, they did right themselves: The Packers came out with a 27-20 win over the Giants on a blustery day in the Meadowlands, getting their record back to 6-3-1 and keeping them in the race for the NFC North title.

The problem, though, is that it was a generally ugly game, marred by dropped passes, missed kicks (two blown extra points by backup kicker Lucas Havrisik) and the defense’s struggles against a feisty Giants offense led by veteran backup Jameis Winston.

And there were injuries. There was a scare from quarterback Jordan Love, who left the game briefly after injuring his left (non-throwing) shoulder, and, of greater concern, there was star running back Josh Jacobs, who tried to play through a knee injury he suffered in the first quarter, but ultimately left the game for good early in the second quarter.

Jacobs had gotten off to a solid start in the game for the Packers, with 40 yards on seven carries, but landed awkwardly out of bounds on a run with 9:12 to go in the first quarter. The Packers had no further details on Jacobs’ injury, but in his postgame media session, coach Matt LaFleur conceded he is worried.

“I think any time a player, especially of his magnitude, any time a player doesn’t finish a game, you’re always concerned about the welfare of them,” LaFleur said.

The positive for the Packers was that, behind Jacobs, backup Emanuel Wilson was able to give the team some production. Wilson had 11 carries for 40 yards and a touchdown, as well as a catch for nine yards.

He also caught the 2-point attempt after the Packers’ final touchdown to give them a more comfortable seven-point lead.

Love was asked about adjusting the offense once Jacobs went out: “I don’t think you have to adjust too much. Obviously, it’s tough whenever people go down. But  like we always say, next man up mentality. Emanuel Wilson came in, obviously he has played a lot of ball.  But he did a great job tonight of just finding aways to keep going.”

As for his own injury, Love downplayed the severity. He did come back to play, after all, and led the Packers to the win with 174 yards and two touchdowns. Malik Willis led the Packers on a touchdown drive immediately after Love’s injury.

“Went in, got it evaluated and I figured it was good enough to come back, so I went back in. It was definitely not fun. Small injury, so we’ll re-evaluate it when we get back, look at it, see what’s going on. But it was not fun,” Love said.

The injury was noticeable throughout the game, Love said, but nothing too severe.

“It was definitely manageable. It was something I was able to play through. It definitely was there but it was manageable,” he said.

In a surprising and heart-warming announcement, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis has officially unveiled a $5 ticket day at Allegiant Stadium — a move that fans are already calling “the most generous community gesture in franchise history.”

The special event is designed to give low-income families a rare chance to attend an NFL game at a price that’s almost unheard of in modern professional sports. For thousands of people across Las Vegas, this may be their first-ever opportunity to experience the energy, noise, and atmosphere of a live Raiders home game.

Mark Davis explained the motivation behind the initiative in a team statement:
“We want to open the doors of Allegiant Stadium to everyone. Football isn’t just for those who can afford it — it’s a shared pride of the entire Las Vegas Raiders community.”

Within minutes of the news breaking, social media erupted. Fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) with emotional reactions, calling the decision “historic,” “incredible,” and “a game-changer for the city.” One long-time supporter posted:

“I’ve loved the Raiders for 20 years but never had the money to go to a game. This time, I’m bringing my whole family. I’m still in shock.”

Sports analysts also praised the initiative, pointing out that this move goes far beyond football. It signals a powerful shift toward community engagement and accessibility at the highest level of American sports. One NFL analyst commented:

“If more teams followed the Raiders’ lead, the league would feel far more connected to the everyday fans who support it.”

In addition to the $5 admission price, the Raiders are reportedly coordinating with local organizations to provide discounted transportation options, affordable meal packages, and a family-friendly zone inside the stadium. These added features underline the event’s community-centered purpose — turning it into more than just a game, but a genuine celebration for the city of Las Vegas.

Demand for the tickets is expected to be overwhelming, with experts predicting a complete sell-out within minutes. Many believe the atmosphere on game day could be one of the most emotional and energized crowds in the stadium’s modern history.

With this bold gesture, Mark Davis isn’t just making headlines — he’s redefining what it means for an NFL franchise to give back. His initiative positions the Las Vegas Raiders as a team committed to equity, unity, and the belief that football should be shared by everyone.
