At just five years old, Tommy Chan faced one of the scariest moments of his life. He needed to undergo a complex life-saving open-heart surgery. These dogs provide emotional support, comfort, and companionship to patients, helping reduce stress and anxiety during difficult medical experiences.
Tommy’s story also sparked changes in hospital safety protocols, emphasizing the importance of monitoring medical staff to ensure patient well-being.
Years after his surgery, Tommy is a healthy young man who often visits hospitals with Archie. They bring hope and smiles to children facing medical challenges.
