The Golden Bachelor couple Mel Owens and Peg Munson are reportedly already clashing and canceled a getaway since they wrapped filming the show’s second season.
According to a production insider, Mel’s relationship with his The Golden Bachelor winner, Peg, is on the rocks and the pair recently canceled a secret weekend getaway, The Sun reported.
“Mel and Peg are already having problems,” the source said.
“She’s a social butterfly and loves to be extroverted and outgoing. He can hang, but he’s much more demure. She’s go, go, go, and he’s calm and slower paced. He prefers nights at home, and she prefers nights on the town.”
However, Mel and Peg are reportedly compatible when they can agree on going out or staying in.
“They connect over foundational things like family and morals, but personality-wise, they clash, and there’s already been cracks in the relationship,” the source claimed.
The source alleged that Mel and Peg had a weekend getaway scheduled for October in a “secluded space” so fans wouldn’t see them together — seemingly a “Happy Couple” visit provided by The Golden Bachelor — but it didn’t happen because they were arguing.
But as viewers saw on The Golden Bachelor: After the Final Rose, which aired on Wednesday, November 12, Mel and Peg were still together and put on a united front.
Mel and Peg spoke about their plans to visit Las Vegas and Michigan, and The Golden Bachelor host Jesse Palmer announced how the show was gifting them a trip to Napa Valley.
“They don’t want the fans to get a whiff of any problems as that will just add to it,” the source added.
According to the source, The Golden Bachelor producers are “elated” with the outcome of Season 2 since Mel gave Peg a commitment ring.

“But he really did allow himself to be vulnerable to the process, and because of that, he had a storybook ending.”
Mel and Peg ending up together was reportedly “a huge relief” to production.

And if Mel and Peg want to get married, ABC has reportedly “already made arrangements” for a televised wedding that would be “similar” to The Golden Bachelor’s Season 1 couple Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s January 4, 2024 ceremony on ABC.
On The Golden Bachelor’s Season 2 finale, Mel’s other finalist, Cindy Angelcyk Cullers, quit during her Fantasy Suite date because Mel had talked about how he couldn’t see himself getting engaged to his winning bachelorette for two years.
