Over 150 Bravolebs attended BravoCon, and unsurprisingly, it was Jeff Lewis who made the grossest comment of the weekend.
The Flipping Out star, who is gearing up to make his return to Bravo, made a “joke” about
That didn’t go over well with the audience or Andy Cohen.
During the first day of BravoCon, Jeff kicked things off with an Ask Andy Q&A. Their dynamic felt awkward from the moment they walked out on stage. We’re not sure if it was the pressure of BravoCon or some underlying issue, but their normal fiery banter crossed over into cringey territory.
One of the most uncomfortable moments happened when Jeff started criticizing the Real Housewives franchise. He said that Andy and the producers “deviated” too far from the formula by casting women who weren’t “as affluent.”
Jeff said, “Like Monica Garcia, for example, didn’t her food benefits just get frozen?”
The audience didn’t like that comment, and neither did Andy. He quickly came to Monica’s defense, noting that her participation on the show created one of the “best seasons of Housewives.”
If you watch the Ask Andy panel on Peacock, you’ll see that editors scrubbed the food stamp comment from the record. That suggests that the offhand comment didn’t land well with the folks in charge. Meanwhile, Jeff told Us Weekly that he thought he “killed it” at the panel but apologized to Andy for taking things too far.
“I have apologized. Look, I know this guy. We’ve known each other for 18 years. He vents and, look, I sincerely did apologize,” Jeff continued. “Now I gotta give him time to cool off. My experience with him, he’ll get back to me in one to three weeks.”
