A former Vikings‘ tight end has agreed to a deal with a team with Super Bowl aspirations in 2025.
Per Mike Masala of Rams Wire, former Vikings TE Nick Muse has agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Rams. The agreement sees Muse join the Rams’ practice squad.
“Muse, 26, played collegiately William & Mary at 2017-18 and South Carolina from 2019-21 before the Minnesota Vikings took him in the seventh round (No. 227 overall) in the 2022 NFL draft. He appeared in 16 games for Minnesota, catching one pass for 22 yards.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Muse to their practice squad in January, allowing him to earn a ring with the team, before waiving him during roster cuts heading into the 2025 season. Since then, he spent a few weeks on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, and now, he lands in Los Angeles

Mike Masala of Rams Wire describes the career timeline of tight end Nick Muse.
Nick Muse didn’t have the most illustrious Vikings career. In fact, Muse only caught one singular pass for Minnesota, a 22 yard reception in 2023. This catch still stands as his only career reception in the NFL.
Muse was better known amongst Vikings fans for his silly personality. Various social media posts by the Vikings themselves and Minnesota’s Fox 9 highlight his known goofy sense of humor.
Heavy on Rams writer Josh Buckhalter explained the situation that TE Nick Muse walks into in Los Angeles:
“The Rams have veteran starter and 2021 Super Bowl champion Tyler Higbee, top backup Colby Parkinson, reserve Davis Allen, and emerging rookie second-round draft pick Terrance Ferguson, their top pick in 2025.
The Rams signed long snapper Jake McQuaide to their 53-man roster on Monday.
Muse takes the two-time Pro Bowler’s spot on the Rams’ practice squad, which is now full with 16 players.”
Buckhalter also goes on to explain how Nick Muse could make an impact on the Rams’ offense as we get closer to playoff football:
“Muse’s versatility could see him carve out a role later in the season. However, that is likely only if one of the Rams’ incumbent tight ends fails to produce as expected. The Rams could also be planning on leaning into a recent trend [of using more tight ends in offensive sets].”
The Vikings let Nick Muse walk in November of 2024. He then signed with the Eagles‘ practice squad in January of 2025, where he remained until August. Muse was most recently on the Cardinals‘ practice squad in October, the month that saw him both signed to and released from the team.
Muse will try to find solid ground in Los Angeles, and that’s not a bad spot to be. The Rams have their eyes set on a world championship. Head coach Sean McVay, of course, is an offensive mastermind that will surely get the best out of the tight end.

Crosby’s Chance to Shine in Minnesota
For Crosby, joining the Vikings would provide the opportunity to be a part of a team on the rise, with a real shot at competing for a Super Bowl in the near future. The Vikings have made great strides under head coach Kevin O’Connell, and the addition of Crosby would solidify their defense, making them a complete team. With an offense that has already proven capable of putting up points and a defense that would now feature Crosby, Hunter, and emerging playmakers like Harrison Smith, the Vikings would be a formidable force in the NFC.
Minnesota’s Path to Super Bowl Contention
The Vikings have not won a Super Bowl, but with their current trajectory, they are ready to make a serious push for the playoffs and beyond. Adding Crosby to their already impressive defense would take them to the next level, providing them with a proven game-changer who can dominate on the edge and disrupt any offense.
As Crosby’s trade request heats up, the Vikings are in prime position to make a splash. If they can secure Crosby’s services, it would make Minnesota a legitimate threat in the NFC, not just for this season but for the future as well. Crosby’s addition could be the key to taking the Vikings from playoff contenders to Super Bowl contenders.
The Big Question: Will Crosby Join the Vikings?
As the trade deadline approaches, all eyes are on Maxx Crosby and whether he will stay with the Raiders or choose to sign with a team that has a bright future and Super Bowl aspirations. If the Vikings can land Crosby, their defense would be transformed, and they would be an even more dangerous team come playoff time.
Maxx Crosby’s trade saga is one of the most exciting stories of the NFL season, and the Vikings are making it clear they want to be a part of the action. Stay tuned—this could be the move that propels Minnesota back into the playoffs and sets them up for a Super Bowl run.
