Shedeur Sanders Shares Emotional Update on Colorado Buffaloes Head Coach’s Health and Thanks Fans for Support During Difficult Time

Posted on November 13, 2025

In an emotional moment that has captured the attention of the college football world, Shedeur Sanders has provided an update on the health of Colorado Buffaloes head coach after he was hospitalized due to a serious medical complication earlier this week. The normally private Shedeur took to the media to reassure the football community, acknowledging that his father, mentor, and the face of the program is now “stable” after undergoing crucial treatment and continues to be closely monitored by medical professionals.

Shedeur, who typically keeps family matters private, made the decision to speak out in order to keep fans and the community informed during this challenging time. His voice calm but heavy with emotion, Shedeur shared that his father’s recovery is progressing, and while the situation remains serious, he remains optimistic.

“This is the toughest time I’ve ever been through,” Shedeur admitted. “But I want everyone to know that my dad is fighting like he always does. He’s been through a lot in his life, and this time is no different. He’s a warrior, and he’s staying strong.”

The sudden hospitalization of the coach—who is the heart and soul of the Buffaloes program—has left the entire team in shock. Players, coaches, and the Colorado community immediately rallied behind the family, sending messages of support, organizing prayer sessions, and putting up banners of encouragement throughout the campus. Even other NCAA schools have expressed their well wishes for the iconic head coach.

“I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone,” Shedeur said. “The messages, the prayers, the love you’ve shown to my dad and our family have helped me stay strong during this time. You’ve shown me that football is not just a game. It’s a community, it’s about people, it’s about unity.”

Despite the personal difficulties, Shedeur confirmed that he remains focused on leading the Buffaloes’ offense. He shared that his father—a man who embodies strength and determination—would want him to continue pushing forward on the field and not let outside challenges affect the spirit of the team.

The inside sources from the team have confirmed that the head coach will take a temporary break to fully recover, while assistants and the management team will take over coaching duties for the time being. Though there is no confirmed timeline for his return, Shedeur’s resilience has brought renewed hope.

“I believe my dad will come back,” Shedeur said confidently. “He’s a fighter. He never backs down.”

As the Colorado community continues to await positive news, Shedeur Sanders’ heartfelt statement has become a source of inspiration for the entire team—a reminder that behind every game are real-life challenges, love, and immense strength.

The New Orleans Saints remain in the top five picks for the 2026 NFL Draft as they enter their own bye week. Sitting at 2-8, there is some enthusiasm around the team after their strong performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10. Tyler Shough showed glimpses of why Kellen Moore was intrigued by him, and the defense stepped up on nearly every occasion.

In a recent mock draft here at A to Z Sports, the Saints were bold in round one, foregoing attacking the quarterback position with a premier selection. Then, they bounced back in round two to supply Shough with some pass catching help for the future.

In the first round, the Saints grabbed a defensive prospect that has consistently sat in the top five selections throughout the college football season when it comes to mock drafts.

“New Orleans’ pass rush remains the biggest downfall of the defense. They desperately need to get Chase Young some assistance off the edge, and Bain checks that box. His start to the season was phenomenal, and his versatility could be the perfect addition up front for the Saints.” – A to Z Sports

Cameron Jordan could be playing in his final campaign this season. If that’s the case, the need for a pass rusher opposite of Chase Young is even more vital for the Saints to acquire next offseason. Bain can immediately step in and play a notable role as a rookie. Love his versatility coming out of Miami.

“You can have your concerns about the size profile. Rushers who offer power and leverage move the needle for me because they can compress the pocket and reduce angles to the quarterback. Bain offers that in bunches, and I think in some ways the compact build plays to his advantage as a result. I love the intensity he plays with as well. He may not be a one-size-fits-all rusher for every scheme, but he’s the kind of cat I’d go out of my way to make some accommodations for to free him up to be his best self.” – Kyle Crabbs, A to Z Sports

New Orleans Saints: Deion Burks, WR, Oklahoma – DeLeone

With their second-round pick, New Orleans takes a swing to help out their young QB. Burks dealt with an injury last season, but he has stayed available more consistently this season for the Sooners. He’s got a smaller frame but possesses incredible speed and explosiveness.

I’d be interested in seeing Burks in a Kellen Moore unit, but the Saints do need more size at the position. Devaughn Vele will be an option next season, but his role has not been quite what some fans hoped for ahead of the campaign. Burks has unique potential and could fulfill a similar role as to what Rashid Shaheed did for them in recent seasons before getting dealt at this deadline.
