BREAKING: Boston Red Sox’s Garrett Crochet and Family Face Heart-Wrenching News About His Father

Posted on November 13, 2025

In a deeply emotional announcement, Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet and his family are facing a devastating personal challenge. Crochet’s father has been diagnosed with a serious medical condition, and the family is coming together to provide him with all the support he needs during this incredibly difficult time.

Garrett Crochet, known for his blazing fastball and resilience on the mound, shared the heartbreaking news today through a personal statement on his social media. While the specifics of his father’s condition have not been revealed, Crochet expressed his gratitude for the support they’ve already received and emphasized his commitment to being there for his father as he navigates this difficult journey.

“My father has been my role model and my biggest source of strength,” Crochet shared in his emotional post. “This is the hardest fight we’ve ever faced as a family, but we’re going to stick together and stay strong. I’m asking for your prayers and support as we face this battle. My family means everything to me, and we will get through this together.”

The message quickly spread across social media, with Red Sox fans, teammates, and MLB fans alike offering their support, prayers, and words of encouragement to Crochet and his family. Known for his leadership and determination on the field, Crochet’s vulnerability in sharing this personal struggle has only deepened the respect and admiration of his supporters.

The Red Sox organization has issued a public statement of support, with general manager Chaim Bloom saying, “Garrett is a tremendous pitcher, but it’s his heart and character that truly define him. Our thoughts are with him, his father, and their entire family during this difficult time. The entire Red Sox organization stands behind them, and we’ll support them every step of the way.”

This news comes during a season in which Garrett Crochet has been playing at a high level, continuing to show his potential as one of the league’s top pitchers. However, his focus now shifts to his family as they face this emotional trial.

As Garrett and his family navigate this difficult time, baseball takes a backseat. The entire Red Sox community, along with MLB fans around the world, stands united in supporting Garrett and his family as they fight through this challenge together.

It’s too early to get our hopes up, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers received some excellent news on Wednesday.

Bucky Irving has been sidelined since September with ankle and shoulder injuries, a situation that has taken a key piece of the Bucs’ offense off the board for a large chunk of the season. It’s been reported that the ankle injury has since healed, and it’s been the shoulder injury keeping him on the sidelines. Head coach Todd Bowles confirmed those reports on Monday, saying they still need to see him take a hit.

Irving wasn’t able to take a hit at Wednesday’s walk-through practice, but he did make his much-anticipated return to the offense, per multiple media reports, including BucsGamedays, River Wells.

The great wait is over — Bucky Irving is here, taking some handoffs in walkthrough. Ben Bredeson is also here with a sleeve on his leg.

The Bucs offense desperately needs Irving to return. The offense has gone stagnant over the last few weeks, and his ability to make defenders miss will be a welcome addition. Seeing Irving take handoffs at practice was an encouraging sign that it could become a reality, potentially as soon as Sunday against the Bills.

The Bucs’ running game has lacked consistent production and explosive plays with Irving sidelined. Rachaad White and Sean Tucker have produced just two 100-yard rushing games in Irving’s absence. Some of the issues have been the offensive line play in front of them, but that’s why they need Irving back, as his ability to make something out of nothing has been pivotal to the offense’s success.

If Irving can go on Sunday it would come at the perfect time for a struggling Bucs offense. The Bills defense has been gashed on the ground all season allowing 147.6 yards per game. Their 30th ranked run defense, is already down Ed Oliver, on injured reserve, and lost third round-rookie Landon Jackson on Sunday to injury. The Bills have struggled with missed tackles all season and the electric tackle-breaking back would be a welcomed addition to the Bucs offense.

In addition to Irving’s return, left guard Ben Bredeson was also seen at practice with a sleeve on his injured hamstring. His return is inspiring for the Bucs offense as it signals the MRI found no significant damage. Tampa Bay just got Luke Goedeke back in the lineup and can not afford any more injuries on the line.
