The younger stars on GH are killing the game.
General Hospital has found pure gold with the teen scene of Rocco, Danny, and Charlotte. Other soaps should take note of what is happening on the ABC soap because fans are loving it.
Key Takeaways
Soaps used to have mad respect for the teen scene. In fact, soaps would build their whole summer around teens, which was how Lauralee Bell (Christine) was cast on her parents’ show,
GH is going back to that train of thought, and it’s paying off in droves for the ABC soap’s teen scene. Charlotte (Bluesy Burke), Rocco (Finn Carr), and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) are the best thing to happen to the teen scene on soaps in a long time.
The dynamic between the characters and actors is impressive. Seriously, these young stars are on fire and can handle their own in scenes with soap vets like Steve Burton (Jason) and Genie Francis (Laura).
These kids can also lead their own storyline with a little help from Braedyn Bruner (Emma) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza). The whole trying to bust Dalton (Daniel Goddard) for animal testing is a believable thing that teens and young adults would do.
Unlike other soaps that focus on romance, or love triangles, or in Days of our Lives cast a teen pregnancy without a lot of reality, GH is writing their teens in real stories that aren’t about young love.
The ABC soap has proven that teens are valuable if written correctly, which involves using the family legacy of characters like Charlotte, Danny, and Rocco, who have deep ties to Port Charles. Throwing in the sibling dynamics between Danny and Rocco, and Rocco and Charlotte, is the icing on the cake.
It’s been a while since teens have been this interesting. DAYS fell short with their latest teen scene by focusing on Holly (Ashley Jones) and Tate (Leo Howard). Y&R hasn’t even had a legit teen scene in years, and neither has The Bold and the Beautiful, which is focused on young adults, not teens.
GH fans are in agreement that Danny, Charlotte, and Rocco are the ones to watch on the show.
“Charlotte is the brains of the group. Danny is the enforcer. Rocco is the heart. I freaking LOVE this group of teens!!!” wrote a fan on X.
There was a fan who responded to that X to say, “I haven’t felt this way about a group of teens since the Liz, Emily, Nikolas, and Lucky..”
Another fan shared on X, “Another generation of teens working together- I love it!! And you can’t beat Jason and Sam’s son, Valentin & Lulu’s daughter and Dante and Lulu’s son!!! Danny, Charlotte and Rocco- I’m here for it!”
“My favourite thing on #GH these days is the sibling dynamics: Rocco & Danny, Danny & Scout, Rocco & Charlotte etc etc. it’s really beautiful to see the young cast exemplifying the future of the show,” stated a fan.
One fan declared, “TPTB struck gold with Bluesy, Asher and Finn Charlotte, Danny and Rocco are the best young trio in daytime.”
What do you think about the GH teen scene, and do you think other soaps should take a page out of GH’s book?
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ mom is happy to be back in the south to visit James Stracke for Parents’ Weekend.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member Sutton Stracke is happy to be back on the East Coast. There, she met up with the youngest of her three kids, 18-year-old college freshman James Stracke.
The Bel Air-based diamond holder returned to Spartanburg in northwestern South Carolina, offering a rare look into James’s first year at Wofford College as part of Parents’ Weekend. She posted “Go Terriers!” in one Instagram Story, happy to be back in the town of her own alma mater, Converse University. In her own words, “loving being back at the haunt in Spartanburg for parents weekend with James,” sharing an awe-worthy snap of mother and son smiling outside. Another snap showed James with a group of his classmates and a few of their furry friends.
What’s more, the Georgia-raised Housewife gave a peek at the yellow trees of her old stomping grounds with the season in full swing. “Love fall in Spartanburg,” she captioned the recent post.
Sutton Stracke posts images of herself and her son James Stracke while at his college to her Instagram stories.
It was only this year that James — the son of Sutton and her ex-husband, Christian Stracke — headed to college for the first time, soon after he graduated from Loyola High School. Sutton was there to see him off for his first day. In an Aug. 24 Instagram reel, Sutton shared an inside look at the dorm room, wishing her youngest only the best as he joined the graduating class of 2029.
“Baby bird is free and out of the nest,” Sutton wrote. “Wishing you the best and most wonderful next four years full of friendship and love, courage and strength, knowledge and kindness, growth and wisdom. I love you, James.”
James is the third and final of Sutton’s three children to head to college. Porter Stracke, 23, who also majored in history, graduated from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and is currently enrolled in Brooklyn Law School in New York City.
As Jennifer Tilly told her BFF Sutton in the RHOBH Season 14 premiere, once learning of Porter’s decision to go to law school. “You raised ’em right,” said the Bride of Chucky
star. “I don’t think your kids are going to be partying it up, stealing your credit cards, buying drugs. They’re like kids from the 1950s.”
Meanwhile, Phillip Stracke, 21, continues his studies at The Citadel, a senior military college in Charleston, South Carolina.
In September, Sutton joined the middle child at Charleston’s By The Way restaurant, owned by fellow Bravolebs Craig Conover and Austen Kroll of Southern Charm. Shep Rose, Whitney Sudler-Smith, and his mom, Patricia Altschul, also joined them for the parents’ weekend reunion.
As Sutton explained in an Instagram reel during the visit, “I’m here in my favorite place in the world, Lowcountry of South Carolina, with this beautiful ocean behind me. It’s a very special weekend for my son at his college here. And my family is coming, and my very best friends are coming. I’m looking forward to spending the last few days of summer with all of them.”
More to come in the “fresh starts” and “major fallouts” when RHOBH Season 15 returns in December.
